We weren't far from work, so it was only about a 10 minute drive to the office. I unlocked my phone and checked my messages. There was that one from Garcia and one from JJ. I quickly opened it.
----- Jennifer Jareau -----
Jennifer: Hey, I saw Emily earlier and she was all dressed up. Did she tell you anything about a date or a girlfriend?
----------
Yes. Me. I'm her girlfriend.
It felt good to say that, even if it was just in my mind. Emily Prentiss was my girlfriend. I could actually call her that.
----------
You: Sorry, no. She didn't tell me anything.
Jennifer: Oh, okay. Thanks anyway.
----------
"What's that?" Emily asked from behind the wheel.
"Oh, it's just a text from JJ. She asked about you."
Emily's face made several expressions before landing on confused, "She did? About what?"
"If you were seeing anyone. Pretty sure she knew you were lying earlier." I said in a flirty tone.
"What did you say?"
"I said that you and I just fucked in your back seat."
She turned to me, eyes wide and jaw dropped.
I laughed a little, "Relax, I'm joking," Emily let out a sigh of relief, "I told her that I didn't know anything. She seemed a little disappointed... but how should I know."
A few minutes later we pulled up to the Quantico Field Office.
"Uh, do you have a change of clothes in here?" I looked under the seat and in the back but saw nothing.
"No... My go bag is inside..." Emily's head fell back at the realization.
Same. Shit.
"So you're telling me that we are about to go work dressed like this," I motioned at our fancy attire, "at 9 pm, walk into a room full of profilers and act like nothing is out of the ordinary?"
Emily squinted, "I'm telling you that it's going to be tricky."
"Mhmm."
I rolled my eyes playfully and got out of the car. We got into the elevator and made our way up to the BAU floor.
Entering the glass doors we were stopped by a curious looking Derek Morgan.
"Date?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Emily looked at me quickly then back at Morgan, "Drug store."
"Drug store?" He wasn't buying it.
"Drug store," Emily confirmed.
"And those hickeys came from...?"
I looked down at my chest and huffed, "They are old. Really old..."
He walked away shaking his head, "You girls get all dressed up for everything. God damn."
Emily leaned in whispering in my ear, "Locker room. That way."
I nodded and started towards the direction she was pointing. Emily opened one of the lockers and pulled out her go bag.
"Clothes off. Now."
Ok... damn...
I stripped off my dress and she tossed me a blue t-shirt along with a grey pencil skirt. I turned away to put them on, briefly looking in the mirror.
Mhmm... Wow...
My eyes got caught on Emily's perfect physic as she got undressed. She pulled a black skirt over my hips, adjusting it so the slit laid over her left leg. Next, she took a grey button-up and started to put it on over her navy blue bra. She left the top 4 buttons undone, letting her cleavage show a little. Finally, she removed her eye makeup and applied a less sensual color of lipstick.
"You ready?" she asked, closing the locker.
I quickly zipped up the skirt and nodded, "Yup, you?"
"Mhm. Let's go catch some bad guys."
We walked out and saw the team gathered around JJ. They all looked up at us and tried to look more casual and less like they were gossiping.
"Whatcha guys talkin' about over here?" I said, circling a finger to point at all of them.
Reid stepped forward, "We were talking about how JJ saw Emily earlier after she went on a da- Ow!"
He was cut off by Penelope slapping his arm.
"We were just chatting about JJ's night out," she said, replacing Spencer's words.
Is that right? Ya, okay.
I raised my eyebrows, "Well I would love to hear about that!"
I heard Emily giggled from behind me, touching my arm as she passed.
Hotch knocked on the window of the conference room and held a case file to the glass.
"I will fill you in later," JJ said, accompanying me on our way up to the round table, "We gotta find out where our next serial killer is lurking."
I chuckled and her hand found the small of my back as we walked.
We all sat down in our usual spots, mine was now next to Emily, and Hotch began to explain the case.
"Los Angeles, California. There is a serial killer murdering families during the blackouts."
"Blackouts?" Rossi asked.
"The summertime is taking a toll on the city's power supply, so they have been having intermittent blackouts to cut down on energy usage and prevent a full-on power outage," explained Spencer.
We all nodded and Aaron continued.
"We don't have much time, so let's get out of here and we will brief more on the plane. Wheels up in 20."
| Sorry this is short. I have to binge-watch cm with my friendssss. Next chapter is going to get a little deep... maybe??? Idk yet. I'm not a very deep person. Haha |
