I put on my light yet fabulous dress for tonight's Valentine dinner date with the one and only Luke Hemmings. We have been dating for 3 long and amazing years and now I was 8 months pregnant with his kid. I wanted to look very pretty for this special occasion but this big belly kept making me look like a whale. Gross. I decided you put my hair half up and half down adding some loose curls at the bottom. I added some light sparkly eye shadow to my eyes to compliment my dress, added a bit of mascara and finalized everything with a light pink lip gloss.
"Kaitlyn are you almost done? Dinner starts in 20 minutes!" Luke yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
"Yes, give me a minute" I said calmly.
I grabbed my phone and put it into my clutch and wobbled my way down the stairs.
"Wow you look amazing for being 8 months pregnant" Luke smiled yet giggled.
"Haha. Thanks french fry" I giggled along.
"Never mind you look gorgeous" Luke stated.
"Now that's even better" I smiled and planted a small kiss on Luke's lips.
"Save that stuff for later" Luke winked.
Luke grabbed my hand and led my outside and into the car. Being pregnant made everything 10x harder. I just wanted this pregnancy to be over. Luke opened up the passenger door and I pushed myself into my seat. Luke closed the door behind me and made his way to the driver's seat. Luke turned on the car and our song "Thinking of You" by Ed Sheeran came on. Luke grabbed my hand, smiled at me and we started to sing the song. By the time the song was over we arrived at the restaurant "Les Frites" my favorite. Luke parked the car, walked over and opened my door and held my hand as I wobbled my way into the restaurant. As we walked in the hostess greeted us with a simple "Hello" and "Happy Valentine's Day." Luke told her our table number which was table seven. The hostess led us to our table which had a rose, two glasses of champagne and two chocolate covered strawberries, how romantic. I was quite sad when I had to ask for water in place of my champagne, being pregnant made me disappointed sometimes.
"Wow this is so romantic" Luke whispered to me.
"I know!" I winked at Luke.
I took a sip of my water as Luke took a sip of his champagne. Luke took my hands and held them across the table.
"I can't wait until our baby girl is born" Luke excitedly said.
"Me too, have you thought of any names lately? She is practically due any day now" I asked.
"Well I've been thinking about the name Ella, it's very cute" Luke proudly said.
"That is very cute, but I was thinking of the name Aubrey" I responded.
"I really think we should go with Ella, it fits better with the last name Hemmings" Luke gladly said.
"I agree, Ella it is" I smiled, this was one of the big milestones in our life, but getting proposed and married would be even bigger. I'm really hoping Luke proposes to me before he goes off and starts touring again.
The waiter comes back and asks us what we want to order for our appetizer. Luke orders a Caeser salad and I order that as well. After a short chit chat with Luke, our salads finally arrive. We both eat our salads in a matter of 5 minutes and then our waiter comes back and asks us what we want for our entree. I order a dragon carrot risoto with a side of mashed potatoes and Luke ordered a steak, medium, with a side of creamed corn and broccoli.
"So I know this is a lot of baby talk but we really need to get started on the nursey before our beautiful princess arrives, since you are the baby expert, do you have an idea for a theme because I dont have any" Luke asks.
"I was always in love with the pink and grey elephant theme, dont you remeber? When we made our baby shower invitations, that was the theme on the card. Speaking of baby shower, that is happening in a couple days" I respond.
"Oh my I almost forgot, oopps. We should see what we get at the baby shower and then we can start the nursery from there" Luke responds and we both giggle.
"Yes, so off of the baby topic, hows the recordning music been lately? I heard from Calum that you guys just recorded and are about to release a new song. Whats it called and what is it about?" I question Luke
"Oh yeah. We have been very busy lately with that, trying to make our first album the best. But our new single is "She Looks so Perfect" I honestly dont know what its about, me and the boys just randomly wrote it and ended up liking it. I guess you can say it's about a girl and her american apparel underwear and how her lipstick stain is a work of art and how we got our name tattooed in an arrow heart. Its pretty random, but ill make sure you get to hear it tonight. Im also hoping this song with actually get on the radio, our fans are really hoping too since they are our number one supporter. I cant forget about you too" Luke responds and ends with a wink.
"Sounds like a good song. Im also suprised how some fans are not hating on me because I am your girlfriend and Im pregnant with your child" I giggle.
"Oh trust me, there are fans that hate but that shouldnt happen. If they really are true fans and support us, they can also support our decisions we make in life" Luke smiles and leans across the table to plant a kiss on my lips.
Our food finally arrives and it looks delicious, something I have been waiting for this whole night. Luke and I take our time with this plate since its something we dont get to eat often since this place costs an arm and a leg. We finish our entree and Luke ends up ordering us each a small tiramisu for dessert, my favorite.
" So how is it being an OB Nurse?" Luke randomly asks.
"Oh I enjoy it, especially the babies. Also everything I learned in college helped me with this pregnancy and will soon help me once I go into labor" I laugh.
"That's good. I wish we could have time to talk to each other like this and catch up with things going on in each other life's. I wish we weren't so busy" Luke states.
"Well at least we see each other at night, that makes everything better. Oh and when you have vacation, then we always see each other" I say.
"And it's wonderful" Luke responds.
Our tiramisu finally arrives, the waitress sets down in front of me and when I look down I see this beautiful diamond ring sitting on top of my dessert. I look at Luke and he smiles and gets down on one knee. Luke looks up at me and say "Will you marry me?" I jump out of my seat, squeal a little bit, and say "Yes." I give Luke one big hug and tons of kisses. We both sit back down, people clapping behind us, I clean off my ring and slide it onto my left ring finger.
"How gorgeous is this" I say while looking at my gorgeous engagement ring.
"I knew you would like it" Luke smiles.
"I love it!" I correct Luke. Our waiter comes back and congratulates us and gives us our bill. Luke grabs it and says "Wow, $160, we are expensive" Luke smiles and puts the credit card on the bill, the waitress then picks it up to go and pay. I give another glance at my lovely ring and then it's time to go back home. I'm exhausted from this best night ever. Luke grabs my hand and leads my out of the restraunt and into the car. Luke drives back home and once we get home we go straight to bed.
