22 Days Before
This morning, Luke went off to the studio and I had a doctor’s appointment to go to. Morgan and Abby also were coming over to help finalize the nursery. Before I went on my way to the doctor, I made myself a bowl of coca pebbles, since I was craving that so bad this morning. Pregnancy problems. I then grabbed my purse and phone and I was out and about to the doctors.
I was actually quite excited for this doctor appointment since I get to find out how much longer I have to be pregnant, and I was hoping that it wasn’t going to be that long. Once I arrived I headed up to the counter to check myself in.
“Hello” I smiled, “I have an appointment today at 11:30am”
“And the name?” The lady at the desk said, which I later found out her name was Clarisse.
“Kaitlyn Bruns” I smiled.
“Okay, all checked in. Please take a seat and your doctor will call you when she is ready” Clarisse smiled back.
“Okay thanks” I then walked over to the waiting area. I read a couple magazines on babys and I actually learned a couple new things from them. I was reading the last paragraph on an article I was reading, when I heard,
“Kaitlyn Bruns” My doctor said.
I stood up and said “Hello”
My doctor led me over to the room and asked “So how have you been feeling?”
“Uncomfortable and swollen” I laughed.
“Well that’s normal” My doctor laughed along.
My doctor did some quick tests of checking my blood pressure and checking my heart beat, and everything was normal.
“Okay, can you lay down while I check how dilated you are” My doctor asked.
“Yup” I quickly replied. This was something I didn’t enjoy doing when I’m pregnant. Having the doctor put their fingers inside, something that I officially hated with a passion.
“Everything seems to be really good down there. You are exactly 2 centimeters dilated. So you little bundle of joy should be here very soon” My doctor said.
“Oh that’s wonderful” I smiled.
“If she doesn’t come by next week Wednesday, you will have to come in and get induced” My doctor promptly said.
“Okay, great!” I exclaimed.
“So I will set the induce date to Wednesday at 8pm” My doctor suggested.
“Works with me” I say.
“Great, well I will see you then unless I see you sooner. Have a great day” My doctor smiled.
“You to” I smiled back.
My doctor then led my out into the hall and I was on my way to get some Panera for lunch. When I arrived I ordered a bowl of Broccoli and Cheese soup to go, considering that the girls were coming soon and I needed to be home. Once I arrived home, I quickly ate my soup, cleaned up the small mess in the house and then waited for the doorbell to ring. While I was waiting I decided to read my book The Fault in Our Stars. I loved the movie so much so that meant I had to read the book. After reading about 2 chapters, the doorbell rang. I got up and answered it.
“Hey there girly, how was the doctors?” Abby immediately asked.
“Good, they said I’m 2 centimeters dilated!” I exclaimed.
