20 Days Before
The pain was unbearable. Shooting pain across my stomach every two and a half minute. I quickly woke up Luke and told him, “Wake up, we need to get to the hospital right now, I think it’s time”
“Oh my god, finally! I’ll get everything in the car and you wait on the couch. I don’t want you to move around a lot considering you are in a lot of pain” Luke quickly said while shooting straight out of bed.
“Wait, before that, can you please call my parents to meet us at the hospital?” I said in pain.
“Anything for you” Luke smiled.
I somehow got out of bed and managed to make my way downstairs onto the couch. Luke was running around fast as he could to get everything ready.
“I think we got everything” Luke said out of breath.
“Finally” I somewhat smiled.
Luke hooked our arms together and he helped me into the car.
“Are you ready for this” Luke asked.
“Yes. Now let’s go” I respond.
With that, Luke started up the car and we were off to the hospital at 3 in the morning. After what seemed like a long 10 minute ride, we were finally at the hospital, my parents already ready.
“I’ll help you” Luke smiled and got out of the car.
“What can I help you with?” My dad quickly asked.
“Can you grab the stuff in the back” Luke responded.
My dad grabbed the baby stuff in the back, Luke helped me out of the car. We then intertwined our hands and headed for the front desk.
“What can I help you with?” The lady at the front desk asked.
“My fiancé is in labor” Luke quickly responded. I could tell he was quite nervous.
“Caroline! Labor and delivery room” The women at the desk yelled to someone who was in the back room, “Caroline will be your nurse today. What is your names?”
“Kaitlyn Bruns and Luke Hemmings” I answered.
“Hemmings, oh my gosh. How amazing” The lady behind the desk shockingly said.
With that, Nurse Caroline put me in a wheel chair and we all went right up to my room.
“What an amazing opportunity to help deliver your baby” Nurse Caroline exclaimed.
“Any persons dream” I managed to laugh. Nurse Caroline better be very grateful to have this chance to deliver the real Luke Hemmings baby.
We got to my room, I quickly put on my gown and laid down onto the bed. Nurse Caroline set me all up to the many machines.
“I am going to quickly check how many centimeters you are dilated” Nurse Caroline explained.
“Dad don’t look!” I quickly exclaimed.
My mom and dad both turned around. Then Nurse Caroline checked, the worst part of this whole labor process was defiantly the dilation check.
“You are surprisingly 5 centimeters dilated, so you are practically half way there. Do you want to get the epidural?” Nurse Caroline asked.
“Yes please” I exclaimed. This pain was unbearable and I needed it to go away.
