29 days before.
I woke up the next morning to the sound of birds chirping in the distance. I leaned over and grabbed my phone to check the time, my phone read 9:32am. I looked over at Luke and he was still peacefully sleeping, what a cute sight to wake up to each day, for now. I laid backed down for a little bit and checked my newsfeed on Facebook and Instagram, Twitter was not my thing. While I was laying down, Ella could not stop kicking. I couldn’t wait until this pregnancy was over. It also reminded me that our baby shower was just two days away. I got up out of bed and went to the bathroom, after I wobbled my way into the soon to be nursery and imagined how it was going to look like. Luke already painted the walls pink and grey, now it was time to add everything else. I planned on taking a trip to the local baby shop today to get some nursery things and then continue once the baby shower was over.
“Kaitlyn come here!” Luke shouted from the bedroom.
“Coming” I yelled back.
I made my way to the bedroom.
“What do you need?” I asked.
“I wanted to know what you wanted to do today. Like go to the park or go to a movie of some sort” Luke responded.
“Well I know for sure I want to go pick up some things for the nursery, the park won’t work for me since my ankles are so swollen but a movie will do” I responded.
“Alright, what movie do you want to go to?” Luke asked.
“I don’t know. Why don’t you look at showing while I take a shower and then let me know once I am done. Then we can get brunch at Applebees, stop of the shop and then go to the movies. Sound good to you?” I asked.
“Sounds perfect to me” Luke responded.
I hopped in the shower, once I was done I put on a nice flowy summer dress, added some eye shadow and lip gloss and then I was ready to start this day. I walked into the bedroom and Luke said, “So Michael texted me today and told me he has a new girlfriend.”
“And who is that?” I asked.
“This girl named Abby. I told Michael to bring her along to the baby shower so we can meet her” Luke responded.
“Sounds good to me, and is Ashton still bringing his girlfriend? Morgan I believe it is” I asked.
“Haha yup, and then there is loner Calum who is just bringing himself” Luke laughed.
“Poor Calum, he needs to find himself a girl before he goes off and ends up dating a crazed fan” I laugh back.
Luke gets and up and says “So are you ready to go Mrs. Preggers?”
“Haha so funny french fry but yes I am ready” I say.
Luke grabs my hand and we walk downstairs, I grab my purse and then we head off to the car. Luke opens my side door and helps me get in since my belly is too big for me to get in by myself.
“What a gentlemen” I whisper to myself.
“I heard that, but thanks” Luke laughs and then smiles.
Luke starts the car and then we are off to the baby shop. Once we get in the shop, Luke says "Wow I cant wait to start shopping for my litttle princess!"
"I never met a guy that loves to shop for baby stuff, you are too sweet" I smile at Luke.
"Im just too excited. I never thought I would get the chance to be a dad and be get married to one gorgeous girl, what an amazing life I get to live" Luke stutters.
