A/N: This one shot will be off the basis that hunters are allowed to date girls, just no boys (obviously).

Thalia POV-

I sighed in frustration while sitting on the bench outside Reyna's villa. I hadn't killed 7 vicious monsters in 3 days for a weekend off just for Frank to tell me that Reyna was busy with praetor duties! To be fair, I never really told her I was coming to visit, but still, it was pretty annoying.

"You think she'd take just a night off?" I questioned Frank, who was standing in the porch next to me. He looked a bit uncomfortable standing there; although he and Reyna were co-praetors and good friends now, most people weren't allowed to be in Reyna's villa without permission. It's fair to say that I'm a special exception to that so called 'rule'.

Frank's eyebrows furrowed. "I don't know, Thalia. She's kind of stressed out with all the new demigods arriving, so I've kind of been avoiding any unnecessary communication with her. She hasn't stopped working all day, and you know how she gets."

I sympathized with him. Most wouldn't dare to test a stressed out Reyna. Once you poke the bear, there's no going back. "She might make an exception for her girlfriend, though, right?"

He put his hands up in submission. "If you want to try, you're free to. Oh, and if you end up taking her out of camp tonight, tell me so I can take over patrol watches."

I shot him some finger guns and smiled. "Sure thing, Boss!"

I just caught a glimpse of his bemused expression before I turned around and started down the path toward the praetors' building.

Reyna POV-

I shifted the seemingly never ending stack of paper on my desk and laid my forehead down on the now empty wooden table to massage my forehead. This week had been one of the most busy this year, what with so many new demigods making their way to the border of Camp Jupiter. Frank and the legionnaires had been helping a lot, truly, but some things had to be taken care of by someone with a lot of experience, which Frank didn't have right now. I hadn't even stopped to eat today and the sun was slowly sinking on the horizon.

"You are Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano," I reminded myself quietly. "You can't just throw in the towel when things get hard."

"Doesn't mean you can't take a break once in a while, Rey." I heard a chuckle in front of me. I sat up so fast I practically gave myself whiplash. I know that laugh anywhere. I was looking into the smiling face of my girlfriend.

Thalia's short hair was as choppy as ever and her lieutenant's circlet sat (as always) atop her head. She had switched from her usual Hunter attire to a more casual leather jacket and jeans, a Green Day shirt peeking out from underneath.

I almost sighed in relief. I hadn't realized how much I'd missed her until she was right there in front of me. "Thalia?!" I exclaimed.

"Hey, Praetor." She smiled, blue eyes alight with excitement. I stood up from my desk and all but ran into her arms.

"Thals," I breathed as I wrapped my arms around her. "What are you doing here?"

I felt a pair of lips on my forehead and a mumbled, "I came to see you, obviously. And to rescue you from all the work Frank told me you've been doing all week."

Excitement from seeing Thalia momentarily sidelined, I groaned as I pulled away from her and walked back to my desk. "No can do, I've got way too much to get done. But you're welcome to go get dinner and bring it back here for us."

"Oh no. No way, Rey-Rey. I got the weekend off and I intend to spend the whole time with you."

I rolled my eyes at the nickname. "We can still spend time together, I just have a lot to do."
