Reyna had never liked her eyes.
They were dark brown, dull, and not stereotypically pretty; intimidating in a way, which was decidedly a good thing with her being in a position of power as praetor. A healthy dose of intimidation had never hurt her before. But it also meant that not many people saw her as "approachable".
Thalia, though? With her big, bright, electric blue eyes that could only come from being a daughter of the sky? Those eyes? Thalia could make her eyes intimidating if she wanted to, with bolts of electricity running through them like adrenaline coursing through a body.
But her puppy eyes she made when she wanted a kiss while Reyna was busy, or the sparkle in them when she was with Annabeth or singing around a campfire? They were warm and bright and inviting and so full of something which Reyna yearned to have.
Reyna loved Thalia's eyes. She could stare into them all day if given the opportunity.

Thalia had never liked her eyes.
They were a constant reminder of who she was, an identifying feature of a child of Zeus. Jason had them too, which she supposed wasn't so bad, but they shared a mutual dislike for the tell tale sign of their kinship with the sky god.
But Reyna's eyes? She would never get tired of Reyna's eyes. It was one of the only ways anyone could ever read her emotions. The way they lit up when Thalia returned from a hunting mission or the teasing look she gave after Annabeth embarrassed Thalia with stories of when she was a kid never failed to make Thalia smile.
They were the color of dark chocolate, arguably the best kind. If anything they added to Reyna's regal poise and powerful aura she gave off wherever she went. But they softened sometimes too, when Reyna comforted Thalia after a nightmare or when Reyna blushed after Thalia told her a bad pickup line.
Thalia loved Reyna's eyes. She could stare into them all day if given the opportunity.
