CHAPTER ONE "Marry me"
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
CASSANDRA WAS SURPRISED TO SAY THE LEAST WHEN SHE WALKED OUT ON THE BALCONY OF THEIR CASTLE, seeing Rose petals scattered around and a candle lit dinner set out on a table. Her eyes widen as a bright smile takes over her features. Klaus had decided to do something for the woman's birthday even though Cassandra wasn't fond of celebrating it. He follows behind her, watching her take in the scene in front of them. She covers her mouth, giggling before turning around to face Klaus who gazes down at her. "Wow, what is all of this?" She asks as she was a little bit taken back by the sudden affection. Cassandra didn't know why he did this, maybe to show his love though he hadn't been around easily.
"Just something special for my special girl." Klaus says with a smile as he leans down to press a kiss on her lips. Cassandra kisses back softly, feeling his hand stroke her cheek. Pulling away, she looks at him, seeing the pure love and admiration in his eyes as he stares down at her.
"Nik, you didn't have to..." Cassandra trails off, shaking her head as she didn't think she deserved him going to such lengths to please her. She didn't need any of this fancy stuff, all she needed was more time with him. Klaus brings his hand down to hers, clasping them together and giving her a comforting squeeze.
"It's your birthday, of course I did." He answers her as he brushes a strand of hair behind her ear. Cassandra falters at his words, totally spacing on her birthday. They rarely did anything for it because Klaus was gone most of the time around it. Sometimes she didn't even want it to come around. Cassandra didn't like celebrating her birthday because it was just a reminder that she was stuck. That and that it was the day her mother died and she was left with her horrible father. She didn't want to remember that.
"They're beautiful, thank you." Cassandra tells him after composing herself, putting on a tight smile to hide the obvious pain in her expression. Klaus noticed it but didn't address it as he didn't want to bring the mood down even more.
"Sit down, love." Klaus says, clearing his throat as he gestured to one of the chairs. Cassandra moves to it, sitting down as she stares at the table. "You're the big one fifty this year." He states with a smile reshowing on his lips. Cassandra frowns, sighing as she wanted this night to be lovely, not bringing up her age and past.
"Please don't remind me." She begs, shaking her head as she rests her hands on the table. Klaus stares at her confused, furrowing his eyebrows. He didn't know why she was feeling this way, he thought doing something nice like this for her would make her feel happy.
