CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
"Please tell me there's another hungry dark evil spirit that killed all these people."

CASSANDRA SHAKES AS SHE LOOKS IN THE MIRROR, her skin was a sickly pale and it was drenched with sweat. She didn't know if it was from the spell or from feeling the divine trying to push its way through. The terrifying thing was, she could feel it winning. Her body was collapsing inwards and she knew the divine would stop at nothing to get control. Turning on the water in the sink, Cassandra washes her face, her breathing heavy. She sniffles as she grips the sink, tears streaming down her face.

There was nothing she could do. There was nothing anyone could do. The divine was winning. There wasn't a way to stop it. Cassandra closes her eyes for a moment, shaking her head. She got what she always wanted. Love. A family. And she couldn't even enjoy it before her life was ripped from her. She was never going to get to know her daughter. Not truly. Not with this thing inside of her. She would never get to marry Klaus. Cassandra would be truly alone.

"Love, are you okay?" A voice asks and Cassandra almost jumps at the sudden words. She quickly wipes her tears and turns to look at Klaus who was staring at her with his eyes full of concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She lies with a tight smile as she clears her throat. Cassandra knew she still looked horrible but she looked like that since the spell was done.

"Are you sure?" Klaus asks as he takes a step towards her, noticing the way she was gripping onto the counter. "You handled a lot today." He says and she only nods her head, coughing lightly. Cassandra knew Klaus wasn't dumb but she was just hoping she could bullshit her way out of him asking a bunch of questions.

"But I feel good. I'm just warm." She tells him as she quickly makes her way past him and into a seperate room. Bonnie had followed Klaus into the bathroom and frowns when she sees Cassandra rush past her.

"I'll go check on her." Bonnie says and Klaus only nods his head. The girl follows in the direction Cassandra went before finding her in the bedroom. "Hey." Bonnie catches her attention, Cassandra glancing over a little cautious of her.

"Hey, Bonnie." She says softly as she runs a hand through her hair, clearing her throat. Cassandra glances around before her eyes land back on the girl.

"I'm came to check on you." Bonnie replies as she walks over to her and Cassandra only shrugs, taking a tiny step away from the girl.

"All good." She states simply making Bonnie confused for a moment but she nods nonetheless.

"Well, that's great to hear." Bonnie admits and Cassandra only fiddles with her fingers, biting the inside of her cheek.
