Being the daughter of an avenger was hard. Not knowing if your dad was ever coming to come back alive every time he went out on a mission. It never got easier. My dad being the head avenger it meant that he was always going out on missions.
As he was Tony Stark it also meant that he got a lot of media attention. That's why the world didn't know about me. I was the worlds best kept secret. The only people that knew about me were the other avengers.
However, life in the tower got boring. Watching outside life continue was boring. I wanted to be a part of it. I wasn't even allowed to go to school. Be a normal teenager. I was just stuck in the tower the whole time.
One day I was at breaking point. Practically climbing the walls stuck in the tower. I went into the kitchen to find dad speaking with Natasha and Steve. If I brought this up with other people around it would be harder for him to say no. Plus they would be on my side. They helped raise me. They were part of my family even if it wasn't biological.
'Hiya sweetie,' he smiled.
'Hi,' I spoke taking a seat at the kitchen island. 'So,' I started. 'I wanted to ask you something.'
'Go on,' he encouraged.'
'I'm sick of spending my life in this tower. I want to go to school. Experience something other than this,' I gestured to the tower.
'Nope absolutely not,' he shut my idea down straight away. Without even hearing me out first.
'What if people found out who you were. Then you'd have a target on your back. I'm not putting you in harms way unnecessarily.'
'Oh come on,' I pleaded. 'I can use a fake name. No one will know who I am. Or who I'm related to.'
'Not gonna happen,' he scoffed.
I leant against the counter. My head in my hands. Knowing that this would be a fight worth fighting.
'I'm sick of spending every living moment in this tower.'
'What's wrong with this tower. We can protect you.'
'Nothings wrong with the tower,' I sighed. 'It's just I never leave. I feel like a prisoner sometimes.'
'She's got a point Tony,' Natasha spoke, yes someone on my side.
'Don't you start,' he pointed at Natasha.
'She's a teenager Tony. She should go to school. Make friends. Live somewhat of a normal life. Its not fair on her to be stuck in this tower all the time. It's not much of a life.'
'Did you not hear what I just said,' dad rolled his eyes.
'I'm not putting her in danger.'
'Its not danger though is it,' I retorted. 'It's high school.'
'What about Peter,' Steve chimed in.
My head quickly spun around to look at him. Peter? Who the hell was Peter. I knew everyone in this tower. Why didn't I know him. I looked back at my dad to see he was giving Steve a death stare.
'That's a great idea,' Natasha added. 'She can't be in that much danger if she's with Peter.'
'You two shut up,' he pointed between them.
'Dad who's Peter?' He didn't answer so I asked again this time my voice slightly louder, 'dad who's Peter?'
'For fucks sake,' he muttered. 'Peter he's a new avenger. Spider-Man. He's just joined the team. Your age. Goes to Midtown High School.'
