all star weekend seemed to be so chaotic. being dragged back and forth between whatever press conference devin had and pictures that needed to be taken for that weekend. luca stood to the side, admitting it all and taking it all in as she watched it happened. once they would wrap up in one section, his grip around her hand would return and she would be dragged onto the next. it was something she would remember for the rest of her life. she had never experience something like that before and she wasn't sure if anything like this would ever top this.

it was well into midnight when they finally had gotten back to their hotel room. her feet aching from all the walking and standing around she did, hating herself for wearing booties instead of something more comfortable. there always seemed to be so much silence around them. it was never awkward but it it still clung on to them. it was like the unspoken words were so desperately trying to crawl out of their throat but once it got closer it somehow fell back into the pit of darkness. luca stared at the ceiling, clinging onto the sheets as she felt devin breathing next to her. aching to be held by him and to feel his warmth but afraid of being addicted to it.

devin let out a deep sigh, his hands going behind his head as he refused to look at luca. because everytime he did he felt so at peace. he could look into her eyes forever and never get bored. they were his favorite and he always searched for them in crowds. he searched for them in women that came and went with the night but no one did it quite like her.

they were only suppose to be bodies. just another body to add to the list. another lips he kissed, another heart she took. instead they found themselves wanting more. suddenly, he found himself spending less time with others and more time trying to find a way to be with her. it anger him sometimes. he felt so out of control. it wasn't suppose to be like that. he wasn't suppose to love her eyes the way he did and want to hear her laughter the way he did. but he did. he spent nights beating himself up.

luca on the other hand? she was trying to find her self control again. she had been the one heartbroken once before and she couldn't afford to have to pick up the broken pieces. she couldn't afford to bring herself to see herself on the floor, tears streaming down her face as she begged whoever she had to beg and pray and plead to bring that someone back. she couldn't be afford to be afraid to bump into that someone in public and lose herself control. she didn't want to be angry at herself again for being so naive and stupid. she had so much to lose because she was the one that had gotten up again, put the broken pieces together. so, yes, she was angry at devin and she hated him.

devin turned to look at her, her face never looking at him because she would crumble. she could feel his stare on her. her eyes closing because she couldn't do it. she wanted to punch him, right in the face because she was so angry at him. she would be damnned if she lost this battle again. she couldn't do it.

devin wanted to get closer, but he turned around instead. because the further away he was from her, it would be easier to not feel what he was feeling. it would be easier to just add another body like they both planed. so why were they wanting to spend more time together then?

the moon looked at the stars. the obvious tears streaming down their face, "why are you guys crying?" the moon asked, looking down at devin and luca who now had their backs facing each other but wide awake in hopes one would cave in, "well?"

"let me tell you about selfish people." the stars began as the moon nodded, taking its eyes of the couple and looking at the stars, "they just walk into your life and taste you because they don't want to miss out on you."

the moon nodded, "well, that's quite the interesting observation you got there." it stated, "why do you think they do that?"

the stars were angry. they were so angry. they were furious and they simply couldn't understand why it had to be dragged out so long. they knew where the story of luca and devin would go and they felt for the poor girl, "he's a stupid stupid immature boy." the stars hissed.

"it's not like the girl is any wiser." the moon tried to defend, "they are both playing with fire."
