the season was starting to wind down, the sun was out for longer periods and the air around felt so much more lighter. it had been a couple of weeks since devin last heard of luca. it was starting to feel like a game of back and forth between them. both fighting for power and neither went to give in.
it anger him. he felt so powerless. not knowing where she was or where they stood, "just hash it out, dick her down." d'angelo groaned as he took another swing of his corona. a break for a couple of days brought the two ballers to los angeles. hoping to see luca in the mix of it all but she was nowhere to be found, "what did j. cole say? you fuck her once and you'll do it for the rest of your life?"
devin rolled his eyes. ignoring his friend as he tried going on her social media pages, refreshing and trying to see if she would post, but luca was nowhere to be found, "there's nothing to hash out." devin retorted, the bottle of corona meeting his lips again, "i ain't apologizing for her feeling some type of way."
d'angelo snorted. he didn't understand what was going on with luca and devin and it wasn't any of his business to understand. but anyone could see that whatever luca had going down there, must be immaculate to be having devin acting the way he was, "i don't know, bro," he shrugged, "there's other pussies to fuck."
luca was in westwood, drinks and hookahs being passed around as she sat in the middle, a bean bag chair brought out to the balcony as she watched her friends laugh and chatter amongst each other, "don't act like we didn't see you and dorian leave that room." sophia whispered as luca looked at her, the pipe between her lips as she puffed out the smoke, "whores."
a devious smile played on her lips. luca was back. it felt so refreshing to be back in the game with a clear judgment but that didn't mean she didn't need her fix from devin. he sounded so appetizing right now, "i get what i want." she retorted back, knowing well that what was coming out of her mouth was nothing but the truth. with the snap of her fingers they all seemed to come back.
"million dollar pussy." lex chimed in, a smirnoff in her grip as the three sat together. luca needed them badly. they were her right and wrong and they grounded each other. she loved the warmth that they brought her and the level of serenity. she needed to be back in los angeles to be able to get a grip of herself and who she was.
"you ain't never lied." luca smirked another puff of smoke leaving her lips, "you wanna know what i wanna try?" luca asked as her two friends looked at her with curious eyes, "what type of hold i have on booker."
yes. she was back. the power was back to her hold. it was her turn to make the move and she knew what she wanted to do. maybe it was the liquor courage or the mixture of the weed and the liquor but luca felt confident. she couldn't believe that she was spiraling over him and that was so embarrassing to her. she made the rules and she played the game, she ate men like devin for breakfast and there was no need for her to be in a power struggle when she knew how to wrap anyone around her finger like she had been doing.
pull up?
she watched as the three bubbles appeared in the chat, a smirk on her lips as she knew she had won again. devin unknown to that the power was now in luca'a hold because the hazy feeling that he was getting was clouding his judgment. all he knew was that he felt like luca had caved in and she needed it more than he did. unknown that luca was in the lead because he was playing himself thinking that.
wya
"told you." luca snickered as she showed her friends her phone.
egos were so weird. they liked to be stroked. they refused to share the spotlight. but they liked to be alone on their terms. it just a complex dynamic but it was intoxicating, the type of intoxicating people went to therapy for and the ones that left a scar in your heart and you could never forget them.
