psychology teaches you about different forms of attachments you develop as a child. luca wasn't sure if psychology taught you about the unhealthy patterns of a relationship or the attachments but she was sure there was something out there. she had once taken a psychology course in college that had covered the forms of attachment children developed in a chapter, and now she wonder if that could transfer into her adulthood.
there was secure attachment, which to every one was pretty self-explanatory. there was anxious- insecure attachment which developed when parents only cater to their children's need sporadically. the child becomes demanding and clingy which often leads to the child becoming angry and anxious. avoidant-insecure attachment is when a parent can't accept their child's emotions and needs which leads to the child shutting down and becoming self-reliant. and the last one was disorganized-insecure attachment. the parent completely just ridicule and frighten their child. luca couldn't say she grew up in a troubled home to cause her to be the way that she was. her parents were very present and very much opened minded to cater to their children's need and wants especially with having four different personalities to care for.
so, luca couldn't say that she blamed her parents. she couldn't say she blamed her upbringing but she could she blamed her first relationship. she couldn't even call it a relationship either. maybe her first attachment. luca now thanked him. it was part of life and she didn't realize how much things could change. being able to be open to change brought the fact that you needed to accept that you have your own faults and toxic tendencies. one couldn't do that if one had never healed.
luca had decided that it if her and devin where an attachment her to each other, it was more than likely to be an anxious-attachment. always there but never enough. tending to each other when they needed each other. that wasn't love. it was an unhealthy attachment that left you struggling to be on your own. drowning under water but wanting to me submerge under water and the complaining of drowning. it was was like a rollercoaster ride, the sudden anticipation and then the pit after the build up.
luca was high. it was friday night in los angeles and the only way she could turn off her brain was with the cannabis in her system. eyes red and hooded as she sat on dorian. watching him intently as his lips wrapped around the blunt, his other arm wrapped around her waist. luca closed her eyes, enjoying how quiet her brain was and enjoying the peace she felt at the moment. her breath hitting dorian's neck making him look at her, "wanna go?" he questioned making luca shake her head she felt him look at her, "you sure?"
"mhmmm." she mumbled back as she nodded making him turn around and turn back to the conversation with one his teammates.
she thought of devin and how he would look at her when they were both under the influence. his eyes low and admiring her. it was such a turn on. his lips tasting like swishers and the taste of the wine who was so used to having. it tasted so good on her lips and now the taste sat on her tongue.
luca looked at dorian, her eyes hazy and she couldn't feel anything anymore. she was on another planet. her motions more of what she knew what to do than what she actually knew what was going on. she had the urge to hear his voice because it wrapped her around and loved her so, "i'll be right back." her voice low, "i need air." she off without a response from him as she walked outside to the balcony and passed sophia and quentin who watched her leave the room.
devin thought of luca more than he wanted to. it was scary to him. the hold that he felt that she had on him. there's no way out because it felt like you were stuck in a labyrinth and they all lead back to her, regardless, "baby." her voice rung and wrapped him in a warm hug.
"what's happening?" the stars asked looking at luca who had her eyes closed feeling the wind blow against her face, enjoying how gone she was in the whole sense of the word.
the moon was so busy watching devin smile to himself that it didn't hear the stars wonder next to them. the moon thought of the lady in the the story luca had met and then they returned their attention to devin, "you see about people who refuse to love," the moon finally looked at the stars who watched luca so intently, "they fight for so long that eventually are the ones who fall the hardest."
the stars didn't know what to say. all they knew was that they enjoyed luca and devin. it felt like they were so destined to belong together but there was a thing about a hurt person and a person who refuses to love— it tends to end in disaster.
"lu?" devin asked, per usual a wine glass in his hand.
"mmm." luca hummed out, "i just needed to hear your voice"
