A/N: Right, so this is just an AU I came up with on a whim a while ago. I haven't entirely figured it out yet, but if you have any questions about it, feel free to ask. Same rule applies if you have suggestions.

Warning: Blood. Also mentions of death.

INMO'S P.O.V.

I lie with my back on the ground, staring blankly up at the night sky. It's beautiful, as it always is. Well, maybe not so much when people are making it turn red because they want to cause Armageddon, but that's normal. I think.

A rustling noise comes from the area of the forest behind me, making me sit up. I turn towards the sound, which is coming closer with every passing second. Now that I can hear it more clearly, I realise that there are, in fact, two things moving through the forest towards me.

And I know exactly who those two things are.

"Didn't I tell you two not to sneak up on me?" I call out to my idiot cousins, Mania and Mario. Their heads pop out of a bush. One of them is smiling sheepishly, while the other is munching on something and has his mouth full. The one smiling, Mania, speaks up.

"Sorry Inmo. We got bored of hunting and wanted to try being stealthy." She says, as they both walk out of the bush, revealing the fact that they're both extremely short for their age - fifteen - and have abnormally long arms, with their hands reaching just past their knees when standing upright. Mario suddenly points at Mania, and says,

"Her idea." With his needle-like teeth still covered in blood, and what I'm pretty sure is fur. I turn to him, raise my eyebrows, and ask,

"What exactly were you eating just now?"

Mario raises his arms, his oversized jumper flopping around somewhat, then opens his mouth and gestures to the mangled, bloody mess still caught on his many rows of teeth.

"A squirrel. Want some?"

I roll my eyes at my younger cousins' antics, and walk over to them. They both only reach my waist, being the same height as each other. I then proceed to pick both of them up by their collars, and tuck them under my arms. Mania squirms around, trying to escape, while Mario bites my hand. I tighten my grip, and give Mario a deadpan glare before saying,

"Stop that. You know perfectly well that your teeth do nothing to me." He pouts, and mutters something about unfairness. I ignore him, and head over to the clearing that we set up camp in.

"Alright you two," I say as I enter our tent, "Go to sleep. It's nearly daybreak."

I toss the twins onto their shared pile of blankets and pillows of varying colours, before climbing into my own bed.

And thus, a timeskip happens

I'm awoken in the evening by yelling outside the tent. My gods, why can't those two ever get up at a reasonable time? I sit up and stretch, grumbling to myself.

When I poke my head outside, the first thing I see is what I believe to be a rabbit, about to hit me in the face. Before it can, however, a blur of grey slams into it, and lands on the ground. The blur is then revealed to be Mania, as she stands up holding her prize. I eye the rabbit as I step out of the tent, and ask,

"Are you going to eat that raw again?" In response, she lifts the rabbit up and stuffs it into her mouth whole. And alive. I wince out of reflex, hearing the poor thing squeal in pain as it's chewed to death.

"...Ew. That's never going to become easier to watch." I mutter, shuddering. Mania looks at me in confusion.

"Then don't watch?" She says. A few seconds later, Mario trots over, holding more rabbits to his chest, grinning.

"I got more of them!" He declares happily, as the creatures thrash violently in his arms. I frown at them, before asking,

"Are you really going to eat all those?" He nods violently, responding with,

"This one is for now-" He gestures with his head to the largest rabbit. "-And the rest are for snacks later!"

"You're going to keep five rabbits for snacks?" I ask incredulously. He grins wider, and says,

"What, would you prefer it if I ate them all at once?" Before unhinging his jaw and shoving the rabbits inside, not biting down. I remember the amount of noise that happened last time he or Mania did this with their food. There was screaming and crunching, as well as some sobbing. Granted, the prey they were eating was humans - bandits who tried to attack us, to be specific - but that doesn't necessarily mean the noises will be all that different. I shake my head.

"No, not really. Now take those out of your mouth and give me one." I say. Mario complies, but as he hands me the rabbit I asked for, he asks,

"Why do you want this, anyway?"

After traveling with them for this long, he and Mania asking questions they already know the answer to is normal, so I ignore him again.

I wave my hand over the animal, and it goes limp. A small, glowing, gently pulsating orb of an indecipherable colour  floats out of its mouth, and glowing mist flows out of its eyes in a similar fashion. The mist surrounds the orb, and I open my mouth. The orb shoots inside, and the mist is sucked into my own eyes. I sigh in satisfaction, as the hunger in my stomach disappears.

The twins are looking at me in fascination, as they always do when I eat a soul. I walk away from the tent slightly, and crouch down to touch the earth. I begin to murmur in some odd, unnamed language. As I do so, several skeletal hands, some still with bits of flesh on them, burst through the soil and grab the carcass of the dead rabbit. They then retreat, back to the underworld.

I stand up and dust myself off.

"Alright, now that we've all eaten, let's get going." I say as I walk over to the tent. I grab my backpack from inside, and press down on the top of the shelter. It shrinks, folds, and compresses with everything inside it, eventually becoming a lightweight cube the size of one of the twin's fists. Gotta love magic items. I place the cube inside my pack, before putting it on and heading off, away from our previous campsite. Mania and Mario follow behind, bickering about something in a cheerful manner. Mario still has the rabbits though. There are only four left now, and actually, now that I think about it, how did they get that many? They can usually only catch one or two. I stop in my tracks, turn to them, and say,

"Wait, how DID you get that many rabbits?" They glance at each other, and after a few moments they blurt, at the same time,

"Stole them-" And run off ahead. I sigh in exasperation, and run after them.

"GET BACK HERE YOU TWO! WHERE DID YOU STEAL THOSE FROM?!" I screech at their rapidly disappearing figures.

A/N: So, uhh, I edited some stuff so that it makes a bit more sense, and added some warnings at the top, as you've probably seen. That's all, thanks for reading.
