A/N: Hi again. Yes, it's been four months. Sorry about that, but also not the longest I've gone without updating, so it could be worse. In case anyone was worried, me not updating doesn't mean I've left the fandom - I think I'm actually trapped here at this point - it just means I haven't finished anything I've written. I do have several drafts in the works, but who knows if they'll ever see the light of day, so.
Also, there is a new project I'm doing (it's not really new, I've been doing it for a while actually) - it's not related to writing, but it is related to Origins - I've put some random stuff about it down the bottom for anyone who wants to know.
: )
But anyway, hopefully this is entertaining.

"I'm boooored," Mario groaned, collapsing face-first onto the countertop and allowing his arms to flop limply across it, knocking over stationary supplies and generally getting in the way. Lucas continued to ignore him, the same way he had been doing for the last ten minutes, as he handed a pair of bowling shoes to a customer with a smile.

"We hope you have a good time here!" He said with fake cheer, the strained grin on his face not so much as twitching as the customer frowned in confusion at Mario, who had resorted to repeatedly poking Lucas in the arm with as much force as he could.

Finally, the customer headed towards the bowling lanes, and Lucas whirled around to glare at his friend-slash-coworker. "Seriously?" Mario poked his arm again, his head still resting on the counter. "Stop that!"

"Lucas." Mario stared up at him with wide eyes, pleading for something, although neither of them were quite sure what that something was. "Lucas I'm bored."

"Don't you have an actual job to be doing?" Lucas hissed in irritation, folding his arms and leaning against the countertop as well.

"I finished already!"

"I sincerely doubt that."

"There's barely anyone here, can't we go play the arcade games or something?"

Lucas reached over with one hand, picked up a stack of papers that were sitting on the counter to his left, and dropped them on top of Mario's head. "No."

"Mean," Mario complained, his voice muffled beneath the layers of paper, but he made no effort to move.

Lucas snorted, trying not to laugh at the sight in front of him. "Why don't you just go poke around the old storeroom if you want something to do? You know the boss doesn't care about that place."

"Uuuuughhhh... Fffffiiiiiine," Mario groaned, pushing himself upright, causing paper to fly everywhere and scatter across the carpet. "Why must you torture me like this, Lucas?"

"That's how you know we're friends," Lucas deadpanned as Mario opened the door behind him, accidentally bumping his leg with it. As the door began to close and Mario disappeared into the poorly-located storeroom, Lucas called out to him, "Also, stop being so dramatic. You're starting to sound like David."

There was an offended shout of, "I DO NOT!" and then the door slammed shut with a loud thump.

"Lucas?" Asked a voice behind him, making him jump and whirl around.

"Mitch! Hi!" He exclaimed, smiling awkwardly at his teammate, who was standing on the other side of the desk looking just as awkward. "How much of that did you hear?"

"Only the very end," Mitch responded, a slightly bewildered expression on his face. "Who was that?"

"Just my coworker, it's fine, don't worry about it - do you need something?"

"Uh, just some shoes. I have a list of the sizes right here," He dug through his jacket pocket for a moment, before handing Lucas a slightly crumpled piece of paper.
