A/N: This is an Undertale thing I wrote a while back.
In an unknown area of the multiverse, a small Monster dressed in purple sat, humming. It was seated on top of an exceptionally tall pillar of freezing cold stone, swinging its legs. At least, that was what the Monster assumed it was made of. It wasn't ice, that's for sure.
The pillar rose higher than any other structure in the place - which wasn't saying much, since the place was empty other than that, at least as far as the Monster could see - and quite a bit higher than the atmosphere in most worlds. Well, the ones that have an atmosphere. The space around it was nothing but empty, dark void. Oh, and a ceiling. Well, that was what the Monster thought was above its head, as an unidentified liquid would occasionally drip down in what was basically the equivalent of rain in this weird and boring place. The 'rain' would only ever fall over the Monster's... island? Yeah, island. It would then move of it's own accord towards the shackles wrapped around the Monster's wrists, which were in turn connected to two strong chains attached to a ring of equal strength. The ring was driven into the center of the circular stone pillar. All of the things keeping the Monster trapped were made of the strange liquid, which was why the 'rain' would move towards them. Once it connected with the chains and such, it would add itself to the mixture, strengthening them. Originally this didn't happen, but the one keeping the Monster imprisoned there had learnt its lesson from when the Monster had managed to break the chains that had kept its legs trapped for several centuries. Because of this, the monster also had shackles around its ankles with a few broken chain links attached to them, this time made of the cold stone, which were clinking softly against each other and the pillar as the Monster's legs swung up and down, up and down, up and down, over and over again.
Feeling like it was being watched, the Monster turned around. Usually, all it saw was the void-like space that had become its home. This time, however, it saw something else. Someone else. Several Someones, actually. It was odd, really. The ones staring back at the monster weren't really... there. They were real, yes, if anything they were more real than the whole Multiverse. But they also weren't. Not on the Monster's plane of reality at least. There might have been any number of them, from only one, to hundreds. It was impossible to tell.
The Monster tilted its head.
Then smiled for the first time in centuries.
A/N: Take a guess who this is.
