Stretching my arms, I yawned as I walked over to the pantry door. As I grabbed some cereal lazily I glanced down at my watch, it read 10:51am. Smiling, I plonked myself down on the couch with my breakfast. This was my first day off work in weeks and I planned to spend it relaxing, doing completely nothing. My brain deserved a holiday from the endless stress of my everyday life. I sat quietly, soaking in the silence. With Ana and Logan gone for the day there was no constant chattering about baby names to disturb my peace.

As I lifted my last grain of cereal out of the bowl, a loud knock at the door broke the silence. Assuming it was a charity volunteer I froze in place, pretending to be non existent so they would hopefully again leave me in peace. However the knocker was persistent and groaning in annoyance I lifted myself out of my comfy position on the couch and hauled myself to the front door. Rolling my eyes I heaved open the door, to my shock Janna stood in the entrance.

"Janna!" I yelped excitedly leaning in for a hug. I was bitersweetly enthralled to meet with up with my friend after so long, but slightly upset my plans for nothing had probably just evaporated.

"I've been trying to call and text you for ages! What have you been doing this morning?!" She asks and my cheeks flush crimson, I hadn't even thought to check my phone all day. I ushered Janna inside, offering her seat. Sitting myself down next to her, Inresume my breakfast.

"So what brings you here so early in the morning?" I ask in between heaped mouthfuls of cereal. Her face brims with sudden excitement.

"Well, I've come over to ask you something very important." She smiles happily and I nod my head eagerly waiting for her to pursue her question. "So I was wondering, you know how Kyle and I are, well getting married." She begins, stammering her words. "Well I was wondering if you would want to be a bridesmaid for me?" She asks awkwardly. Jumping up to hug her, I nod with excitement.

"Of course I would Janna, thank you so muuch!!" I say as pull into a tight embrace. I beam with happiness from ear to ear, knowing that although I may have been feeling like shit lately, at least I know I have some true friends. Janna pulls out from the hug quickly and looks down at her watch.

"Alright then, hurry up and get ready, the dress shops open in half an hour. We have heaps of bridesmaid dresses to look at and we're on a tight schedule." She says Half-jokingly. I sigh as a small smile tugs at my cheeks, could I ever catch a break?
