Comeback to me, Wife!

Chapter 17: It's Payback time!

Cailey's POV

"Tell tita Hanna that I'll visit her soon, too!" Mindy was preparing some food in the kitchen while I was busy trying my hair.

"Okay, I'll tell her. She will be happy to hear that!" I said and went to help her.

"I really wanted to come with you but it's a family bonding so I'll just wish you all have a good day!"

"We will, thank you!" I smiled and took the bread from the toaster.

"Go, I'll take care with everything from here! Go now!"

"Why are you so eager to shoo me away? Are you planning something?" I joked.

"Of course! I am planning to date Carlo!"Mindy said, as if a teen girl talking about her highschool crush.

"Carlo? Why? Is he already back?" I asked excitedly.

"Not yet, but he is, after a month!" Mindy answered, giggling. "Will have an online date!"

I smiled at Mindy's actions. She still acts as if they were new lovers. And I'm happy for her. I'm happy for them. Carlo deserves her, and so Mindy to Carlo. They both deserve each other.

"Okay, good luck with your date! I'll be back before nine!" I tapped her shoulder "See you later, Mindy!"

"Okay, be safe! And have fun!"

"I will!"

When I arrived at my father's house, I door belled and was faced by Mrs. Gerlan, our long time house helper and my nanny since I was a kid.

"Goodness Gracious, My Lady! You're back! Come in, come in! They are waiting for you!" I smiled at Mrs. Gerlan and hugged her. "I missed you, Mrs. Gerlan!"

"Me too, My Lady!" She replied as she hugged me back.

We went inside the house and there I saw my father approaching me. I ran to him and hugged him. Mom Hanna was also there and she hugged me too. Ally was standing beside Leanne, who's face were looking at me with disdain.

"Welcome back, Cailey!" Ally said and kissed my cheeks.

"Thank you, Ally!" I said and looked at Leanne "It's nice to be back here, Leanne" I said trying to be nice with her but she just rolled her eyes and said "yeah, whatever!"

Leanne was at my age while Ally is two years younger than me and Leanne. Maybe that is why she was not that awful to me.

"Let's have a sit. The food is ready!" Said Mom Hannah and looked at me. I smiled to her and gave her an assuring look.

She does know that Leanne doesn't go well along with me even before they lived in this house. Mom Hanna tried her best to make us get along with each other but Leanne wouldn't. At first, I gave it a try to get along with her but she was so stubborn and hard headed. So I gave uo and let her be. Just as long as she won't step out of the line, I won't argue with her.

While eating, father asked me how was my work. I said I was doing fine the first month with my work, and had a hard time these last few weeks. Father said he was happy for me, and know that Mom was too. After that his phone rings, Dad excused himself to answer his phone.

"So how's your wedded life? Is it great? Oh, Russell might be bored, isn't he?" Leanne barked, trying to get into me.

I wasn't planning to talk about Russell in this reunion but I guess it can't be helped.
