Chapter 15: A date?

Cailey's POV

"Cailey, how have you been?"

I smiled when Tita Hanna came to visit me in the company. I was worried that I won't be able to face her due to my working hours but I was glad that she was here at lunch so the timing was fine.

We went to a nearby restaurant and we decides to have our lunch there.

"I'm doing great, Tita Hanna. I'm not used to work but I managed to survive each days." I answered, sipping my juice.

"I am happy to hear that!" Tita Hanna said and held my hand "When will you come home? Your dad misses you so much. We haven't heard anything from you the last two months."

I held back Tita Hanna's hand and said "I'm sorry Tita Hanna, I was just busy these last few months. I was still adjusting. Don't worry, I'll find time to visit you guys"

"I'm looking forward to it, Cailey." She said "Ally misses you already too. She was nagging me when will I be able to bring you home" she chuckled.

I laughed at the thought. Ally would always do that. She may look like she doesn't care at your presence but she does, she just love to hide it.

"Tell her that I'll come visit one of these days. She will believe that."

"Very much! I will tell her that." Tita Hanna squeezed my hand "Now let's eat"

While eating I can't help but to look at tita Hanna. I don't dislike nor hate tita Hanna before, that was not the reason I was avoiding to visit them. The fact was, I was afraid.

I was afraid to see dad happy with them and forget about mom. Dad was so devastated when mom left us and so I was. But when tita Hanna came, he slowly began to be back lto his old self. And I was happy for him, but at the same time, I was scared, I was afraid that he would forget about mom.

But I've come to realize that mom isn't going back. And I believe that she was happy to see dad learning to love again, to be happy again after she left us.

"Tita Hanna, thank you for loving dad!" I said out of the blue.

Tita Hanna looked at me with her face a bit taken aback. But later on she smiled. And I can say that she genuinely loves dad and that is what dad deserves and what I wanted.

"Don't thank me. Your dad is amazing." Tita Hanna said like she was telling me about his high school crush.
"How could I not love the kind of man he is?" Tita Hanna said, her eyes shows love.

"They say, second love is the sweetest! I don't believe in that before but when I saw you and dad, it was true after all!"

"I know I can't replace your mom in your heart, but I hoped that you can let me love your dad,and you as my daughter too"

I nodded to her and she mouthed thank you.

It was the first time that I felt this way again. I felt relieved after talking to Tita Hanna. I admit that I was distant to her before when they came to our life. No one can blame me. I loved mom so much that it took me years to accept tita Hanna as a part of our family. To accept the fact that dad has his new happiness.

After that, I hailed a taxi for Tita Hanna. I need to get back to the company before one.

"I have to go, Cailey. Take care of yourself okay?" Tita Hanna said while readying herself to get in the taxi

"I will...mom!" I said andbclosed the door.

I saw her smile and wiped her tears. Now I know why dad loves her. She's just so sweet, emotional and good-hearted. I waved at the taxi, seeing that it's already drove away.
