Comeback to me, Wife!

Chapter Six: Is he flirting with me?

Cailey's POV

When she woke up, she smelled something that made her tummy churn.

She got up and went to rinse her mouth and took a shower. She changed her clothes and went downstairs. She saw Russell sitting on the table, reading some newspaper.

''You're up, let's eat!'' he said and put the newspaper down and looked to her. 

She was planning to decline his offer but her stomach wanted to eat badly. She forgot that she wasn't able to eat dinner last night because of what happened. So she didn't argue with him and just seated on a chair and started to eat. Sally, who's preparing food, smiled on her, so she was too. 

After the exchange of smiles, she went to look on her food only to see, Russell staring at her. She wrinkled her forehead and just ignored him. But she can't eat properly, because Russell was staring at her. She wanted to full her stomach, because she was sure that she'll have a lot of works to do. But she didn't seem to be able to do that, because of the man in front of her, who was looking and staring at her intently. She could not help but get anxious and annoyed.

''Stop staring at me, and eat your food'' she said.

She noticed that he did not move his food. So she had to say that to divert his attention into his plate. And true enough, he coughed, and started to eat. 

After eating, she stood up and was about to go out, when suddenly, Russell speak. ''I'll take you to work'' he said and went straight out of the house without even waiting for her answer.

She was now at the entrance of the house and Russell's car honked. Gesturing her to get in the car. She has no choice but to get in, so she opened the back door only to be stopped by Russell's  voice ''Do I look like your driver?'' he sounded like a pissed one. So she rolled her eyes and went to the car's front door, she seated beside him.

She wanted to ask why he was driving on his own and where was his driver, but she chose not to, she doesn't care anyways. Or did she? She shook her head.

When Russell and her arrived at the company building, where she was working, she then got out and bid him good bye. Before she could even walk inside the building, she stopped from her tracks.

How did he know where she works at? She thought.

She turned around only to see Russell's car already left. She stomped on her feet. Russell!! She was mad, realizing that Russell seemed to know all of her whereabouts! She doesn't like beeing monitored! So it is making her annoyed.

She went inside the building and went straight to her desk. She put her bag beside her and opened her computer. Later then, some of her colleagues began to gather in her desk. Wearing their malicious and suspicious faces. One of them asked ''Who was that Cailey? the one with the black Porsche who sent you to work? Damn!!''

''Oh my god! Is that your boyfriend? He's got to be some wealthy man!'' One of them asked again, and I was left speechless.

Now, how will I answer these folks? This is all Russells fault! He purposely did it! What is he planning? Did he plan to ruin her life again? How will she tell her colleagues that it was not her boyfriend, but her ex-husband. Nah! She doesn't want them to feel sorry for her so chose to smile and shut her mouth and didn't answer them. Until they each went back to their post. 

She heaved a sigh of relief. Thinking that she might have ditched her colleagues questioning eyes, what about the next coming days? Ugh! This is so frustrating! She then diverted her attention on her computer, she shouldn't think of it for now. She need to work, thinking of that will only cause her no work done. 

Later, she heard again the gossiping voices of her colleagues, she wasn't planning to join them but one of them dragged her in, and she had no choice but to stay still. She discovered that they were gossiping about the others company's boss. And she found out that it was about Russell. 

They say that Russell got divorced with her unknown wife, and was now together with her high school sweet heart heart and girlfriend, Rylee, who were a model and a public figure. She can't help but to sigh. Of course, no one knows she married Russell. She was hurt by that, but she managed to hide it. She slumped back on her seat. Not wanting to hear more of their gossips. 

She soon noticed that her co-worker were walking fast back with their seats, and when she turned around to see what was the reason. She saw a man wearing his navy blue suit. He emits an authoritative aura, so she fell silent. She wasn't aware that there are some man in this world who can match the aura given by Russell. 

She's guessing that it was an important client. Otherwise, the department's manager wouldn't be this tense and nervous. But she was wrong, when their manager stood just as much for them to see, announced that the man standing beside him was the new owner of the company and the new CEO. Everyone welcomed him and clapped their hands, so am I. Looks like we have to work with our new boss?

''Please welcome our new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Aiden Benaflor. Around of applause please''

But thinking of it, it was too sudden, why the sudden change?

I looked at him, and to my surprise, he looked at me too. He smiled a bit, but still, he looked so serious, and I can tell that he's no different from Russell. And I seem to need to avoid him, especially when he winked at me. What the hell?

Is he flirting with me? Well, he couldn't be right? It's even impossible! She thought so she shook it from her mind and went to do some paper work.
