"(y/n)~" he called.

sighing again, you whisper shouted. "no, mahito- i can't indulge you while we're out and you know it. half of these people probably can't even see you and its bad enough it looks like i'm talking to myself-"

he whined again, trying to make himself look cuter as if that would help his cause. "please~?"

"no-" you spoke again, looking away this time. "i just told you why i can't buy you that. besides, i'm low on funds and i just got fired. i don't know how i'm gonna make ends meet now that i don't have any income."

frowning, he made a face. "i can get you money."

"what? don't be stupid, mahito, that would be impossib- aaand he's gone." you sighed to yourself. he never fails to exhaust you.

following the direction he ran in, you tried to find him through the sea of people. at this rate, you'd never find him. for all you know, he could have gone down into the sewers to run in a more open space.

~~~
hours after he had run off, you were sitting on a park bench, trying to enjoy the silence of the evening with nobody around. as much as mahito gets on your nerves, it was weird not having him by your side, chatting your ear off. in a weird way, you missed him.
your feet were aching and your legs were sore from all the walking you had done, hoping to find mahito somewhere. but the streets were packed with people since it was a weekend, and he was nowhere in sight regardless of where you went. he must have gone quite the distance without you realizing it. after all, it was nearly dark now and you still hadn't found him.
it wasn't until you heard a voice some distance away, calling your name, did you finally move from your position, turning to see who was coming your way. unsurprisingly, it was mahito, running toward you. he kept calling your name, as if excited to have finally found you.
once he got close enough for you to make out his facial expression, you felt your stomach drop. "mahito- what did you do, oh my god-"
"what do you mean? i said i could get you money, so i did." he frowned. "do you not want the money?"
mahito's pockets were clearly stuffed with money, some of which was folded, some crumbled, and some shoved in without a care in the world. there was probably a good amount of change in his pockets too. but that wasn't what you were focused on. from head to toe, mahito was drenched in blood. it looked as if some of the blood was beginning to dry, too, and it was beginning to flake off of him in tiny bits.
"please tell me you didn't kill people and this is my imagination-"
his frown deepened. you had to stop yourself from sighing again. your mind was racing with thoughts, but none of them stayed long enough for you to properly think on a single one of them. of course he recognized murder is wrong, you'd told him so at least a thousand times. so why would he think killing people for you would make you happy.
"mahitooo..." you groaned. "how many times do i have to tell you, killing people for no good reason is wrong-"
his frown deepened despite you thinking that was impossible already. "but i did have a good reason! i did it for you-!"
"no, mahito, you shouldn't kill people for me." you frowned.
rubbing his arm awkwardly, he looked off to the side. "well, what do i do with all this money, then?"
sighing again, you rubbed your face as if it would help."well, i guess we can keep it... there's not much else for us to do with it."
that seemed to make him happy, and he was probably about to hug you out of excitement, but you quickly ducked out of reach. "no hugs while you're covered in blood-!"
he whined out of disappointment. "anyways, can we spend some of the money now? i made sure to get a lot, but i still don't understand how much you need anyways-"
"sure. but first, why don't we get you cleaned up. even if most people can't see you, i don't want random people having heart attacks when they see you..." you mumbled.
he cheered, happy that for once you were going along with his plans. "thank you! i love you!"
"you don't even know what love is-" you argued, fighting back the embarrassment and smile clearly displayed on your face.
