Just before he walked out the clubroom door, Kageyama was stopped by suga. He turned around with a puzzled look. "What's up?""Actually," suga started. "I'd like you to stay late today. You can leave on your regular clothes...I don't exactly want you to stay for extra practice."
"Oh...did you need help cleaning the gym?"
"No, not at all. It's quite the opposite. I've actually started inviting a certain pair of players to help Hinata with that serve of his. I thought it might do some good for you, as hinatas partner, to watch how he interacts with and improves with other players."
Now, suga isn't the type to lie to his friends and teammates, but there's always a time and place for lying. In this case, it's harmless...
"Oh? I'm fine with staying to watch, but who's been helping him?"
"Iwaizumi and oikawa. They've already helped him straighten out his form while receiving so I'm thinking his serve won't take long to master. That is, when he's not in the same room with you at least." Suga chuckled.
A tinge of jealousy flowed through Kageyamas next words. Not only was he frustrated with his upperclassmen (that he secretly looked up to) willingly helping Hinata, but he himself wanted to be the one helping Hinata.
"Did they offer to help, or did you and Hinata beg them? I can't see oikawa helping a player like that, especially from an opposing team."
Sighing for the hundredth time that day, suga rested both his hands on his hips. "Kageyama listen, oikawa isn't as bad as you think he is. Believe it or not, I'm good friends with him and he's been nothing but helpful and good company."
"So...you didn't beg him..?"
He received a light bOnK to the head. "Oikawa has changed since the time you spent with him in middle school. Just watch later on, you'll see what I mean."
Kageyama refrained from letting out a groan. He did want to watch Hinata practice, just not with seijoh members. Especially oikawa.
"I'll watch. It would be helpful to gather information on their playing style and any new techniques they may have... Do I have to hide again?"
Suga smiled sheepishly in response. "I promised Hinata I would make sure you went home so you didn't see him practicing with iwa and oikawa. But if he did catch you I guess you can just say you came back because you forgot something."
"That works. And uh, can you send me that video you took of Hinata earlier?" Kageyama stood tall, attempting to appear uninterested in whether or not suga agreed to send it.
Suga looked him in the eyes for a good 10 seconds, waiting for him to break. "Why?"
Well, this was unexpected. Kageyama didn't think suga could be so...blunt.
"I'd like to study his..form. To see what he needs to work on."
Suga took a step closer to him and watched as he tensed up. "His form was as good as it gets in high school volleyball. I don't think there's a reason you need to see it again since there's nothing he needs to work on. You know, other than doing it around you."
Kageyama took in a breath. "Maybe...maybe you missed something. I'm sure that dumbass wasn't completely perfect."
This right here was suga's high. He knew damn well Kageyama was aware of the fact that Hinata didn't mess up a single movement. That lovesick bastard just wanted something to fall asleep to. Oh the joy of watching a potential relationship unfold <3
