Suga agreed. He leaned in a little closer to oikawa and whispered.
"We should totally set them up for a sleepover tonight, right?"
.
.
.Two Hours Earlier
Suga was certainly surprised..
Not at the deal, but the contents of the deal. It made little sense..?
He huffed and laid his head back, still directing his gaze to the road ahead.
"So, to put it simply; you and Kageyama will be texting back and forth. In the midst of this, Kageyama will stop texting you at a random time, hoping you haven't already bought the latest volume of One Piece? But if you *have* already gotten it, you keep it. If it's the other way around, he keeps it?"
"Yes, that's what we came up with. It makes sense though...right?"
Suga eyed Hinata.
"Back in my day, we just asked each other out on a date." He sounded like a grandparent talking about how much better it was to live in a time with no technology.
Hinata, expectedly, didn't know how to take this. He just said the first thing that came to mind.
"But this is only a *friendly* competition. Not like we're out buying anniversary gifts for each other."
Hinata turned his head toward the window, hiding his smirk.
A competitive expression grew on suga's face.
"You got me there, but let me ask you..who suggested this 'deal?'"
Hinata answered truthfully, unaware of what his teammate would make of the info.
"Kageyama kinda did. I mean, I made the rules of the bet but he was like 'bet what?' after something I had said."
There it was, exactly as expected. Suga continued.
"If those were his exact words, then tell me this; what first crossed your mind when your *friend* said 'bet what?'"
Got em.
"That's-!"
"It's what?" Suga asked, his voice a notch louder than Hinata's. "It's time for you to own up! Either you admit to your feelings or you tell me EXACTLY what went through your mind when he texted you that."
"I don't have to tell you a thing!"
"50 laps says you do!"
"You can't do that over something unrelated to volleyball?!"
"You forget I date the captain," suga smirked.
"You forget my stamina is second only to Kageyama," Hinata shot back.
"You forget I'm behind the wheel of this car."
Hinata gulped. Suga had a point...
"Fine, just don't crash!"
"Oh no, you took my words the wrong way. I wouldn't crash the car out of spite, I'd take you to Kageyama's place and finally clear the air between you two."
Wow talk about a low blow.
Let's be honest here, suga was that one kid who absolutely demolished the other kids in those weird roast battles during middle school lunch.
Hinata was beat. He knew this.
Though he had one last point to bring up.
"Come on suga, we both know you won't do that..."
