"Alright Hinata, we've got a whole day to ourselves and nothing to do. Any ideas?"Hinata sat up and yawned.
It was a bit later in the morning; around 12-ish. Which is understandable, seeing as they were up until almost 4 am.
"I don't know, extra practice?," he stretched. "Are you almost done making breakfast?"
Suga had just finished chopping up some strawberries and watermelon, plating them next to scrambled eggs and toast.
"Just a second. And we have practice tomorrow, why don't we do something else? Or if you really want to, there are other ways to practice..."
Hinata stood and stretched once more.
"How? Mental training? Like memorizing hand signs and stuff? I think I've already got them down. And I already know our game plans and formations."
Suga shook his head while setting two plates at the table.
"Not exactly.. Here, breakfast."
He and Hinata both sat down.
"Thank you for the food," they said in unison.
Halfway through eating, Hinata decided to pry a bit.
"What type of other ways are there to practice? I can't think of much else."
Suga popped a chunk of watermelon in his mouth and leaned back.
After a moment, he smiled.
"Getting along with your teammates. The more you get to know and understand them, and their feelings, the better you'll play. Kinda like Daichi and I; we know each others thoughts during a game with a single glance."
Hinata could sense the vibe. Here they go again, off to Kageyama-talk.
*Kageyama-talk: a conversation typically between Hinata and suga which highlights the growing relationship between kagehina. Of course, Hinata has no knowledge of this ship name.
"So...you're saying I should get to know Kageyama a little better? But I know him well enough. He's mean, arrogant, overly determined, reliable, smart...no! No, not smart! Very, very stupid!"
He was fuming at himself. In no way did he actually mean that. Not one bit.
'Overly..determined..? Hinata that's literally both of you.'
"I don't think you know him well enough if you can't decide whether or not he's smart." Suga leaned forward, staring into Hinata's soul.
This, of course, intimidated Hinata. He was just given the cold hard truth and has no way of defending himself. How can he? It's not easy arguing against facts.
"That's..."
Suga finished for him.
"That's an undeniable truth!"
He got up with their plates and put them in the sink. As he cleaned them, he continued speaking.
"Why don't we go out for a walk and discuss a few things? We could just talk here but it's a nice day, so why not. Maybe I can invite oikawa and iwa?" It was almost like he was asking Hinata's permission. Well, oikawa *did* get him drunk that one time so...
"Oh that might actually be fun. Let's do that! Is there a specific place you wanna go? I've been wanting to buy a few more volumes of One Piece, so maybe a walk in the city?"
Hinata seemed content with his idea as he smiled, waiting for suga's input.
Suga set the dishes to dry and turned around.
