Surprisingly, she had finished all her work for the day and managed to have dinner with Xavier. That week flew by so easily with managing her work, her school and the best part - her relationship. Over the next month, the pair managed to maintain a good and healthy relationship, including Jelani acting as a barrier between Xavier and opioids. He helped her pay bail - secretly though. He didn't want anything making her feel sad or unhappy in any way. He remembered his main mission:

To preserve her angelic smile.

"My brother and sister want to meet you," She told Xavier while he helped her braid her hair. Xavier had learnt how to braid a few minutes prior when Jelani had asked him to. He wasn't bad at it - he wasn't good either but considering that he had learnt it in 10 minutes and a Youtube video was impressive. "I told her about you last night... she told him...so now they wanna meet you. Today." She said, combing her thick African hair. "I'm already meeting siblings?" He nervously chuckled. "Mhm, what'd you expect?" she asked, finishing off the braid she started.

"Okay, then..." he muttered. "And if they don't like me?" He asked, gently finishing off her braid. "They will, trust me. Everyone loves you," Jelani blurted. After saying that - she instantly regretted it. Xavier paused...

And pretended he didn't hear it and ignored her statement, "Come let's go eat."

Jelani cussed herself, mouthing the word fuck over and over again for her careless L-bomb. Considering Xavier was the type to not be in a relationship unless they're actively having intercourse. "I'm-"

Xavier turned to her - of course, he couldn't be mad at her. "I'll meet your siblings. As long as I'm not meeting the parents," he smiled, passing her a plate that had a glazed donut on top. "A donut for breakfast?" She questioned. Xavier smiled and nodded, kissing his girlfriend's head before he walked to his bathroom.

He wasn't going to lie saying that he wasn't nervous, because he was. He feared for the main reasons that her siblings may not like him. Of course, Jelani reassured him by saying that everyone loves him but something about her saying that made him even more nervous.
