The nurse had kicked me out of the room, claiming that visiting hours were over and that I had to leave. Showing me the door, she smirked evilly as she watched my retrieving form, probably thinking that I couldn't see her smug look. Then again, she probably didn't know that I was glaring at her discreetly over my shoulder as I walked down the hallway.

Normally, I wouldn't give up without a fight though a little birdy had informed me about the fact that this certain evil nurse who had just kicked me out would be leaving as her shift was drawing to an end. The strict nurse would be gone at the end of the hour, at 9:00pm to be exact and would be replaced by another one for the night shift.

Not to sound over confident, but I'm pretty sure that I'd be able to woo over the next nurse in no time and then I would be back with Ally where I should be.

So, seeing as I had a whole hour to kill, I opted to pass the time at the hospital rather than heading home and then having to return soon after. It made sense.

Heading south with my eyes trained on the set of stairs that were located there, I took them two at a time and it wasn't long before I had rushed past floor four and landed on floor three.

My Vans tapped softly against the marble flooring which attracted the attention of the patients that were in their separate rooms. They poked their heads out the doors to see who the person was that was intruding upon their territory. Some of them looked at me weirdly and disappeared back into their rooms whilst the others just carried on staring as if I was some sort of celebrity.

Well, I guess I was to them seeing as not many people seemed to come visit the patients that were admitted into this floor of the hospital.

Honestly, it was sick how people would just forget about the ones close to them as soon as a hurricane hit home, or in their case, became physically ill or unstable. Most of the patients were above 60 here, judging by the many wrinkles that most of them sported, and it was no secret that this floor hardly catered any visitors.

So I guess it was no surprise that they were all looking at me, trying to figure out whether I was here to visit them or someone else. At least it would pass some of the time.

Coming to a stop before Room 03, I knocked on the already open door. The man jerked his head back at the sound of it, looking over his shoulder at me, still hunched over the small desk which inhabited his room.

He stared at me for a few seconds before diverting his attention back to the piece of paper he was previously drawing on. The scene remained frozen like that for a few minutes with me leaning against the door frame watching him as he peacefully drew on the sheet of paper which was laid on the small desk before him.

This room was identical to all of the rooms on this floor, painted a ghastly white. The windows were adorned with black lace curtains, with a matching bed, a chest of draws and a desk. Other than that, the box-sized room was empty.

However, Mr. Morris did have a photo frame of his son sitting on the top of his desk. He had told me before that this was the first thing that he looked at every morning, and every day it would bring a smile onto his face. Sadly, there weren't many things to make the people who resided here happy.

He didn't acknowledge my presence after that first glance over his shoulder; he didn't even glance at me again. It was almost as if he had forgotten that I was there, standing at the entrance of his room, or that he had forgotten who I was. As sad as it was, I was inclining towards the latter.

You see, this is what happened.

I remembered distinctly the first time that I had met Mr. Morris. In fact, it was a similar situation to this one. I had met him in the hallway a little over a week ago as I had been thrown out of Ally's room so that the doctors and nurses would be able to run some tests on her.
