(Cassandra POV)
I shoved all my belongings into boxes, suitcases and anything I could find to put my clothes, my electronics... everything I owned was now boxed away.
"It's time I leave... for good." I muttered while my phone continues to buzz, my talent for ignoring got better. Jake doesn't love me anymore, nobody does.
I had a secret Twitter account and everyday I see more and more hate comments telling me to kill myself.
Sam and Colby just uploaded: this is why we believe... |The Langham Hotel Room 333
"I hope they're having fun without me," I sighed as I dragged the tape over my last box and cut it off where I needed to. I hated the sound, but it was worth it.
RIIIIING RIIIIING!
My head turns to my phone, it was the apartment manager. I grabbed my phone and answered.
"Hello?"
"Hi, am I talking to Cassandra Webber?" She asks politely.
"Yes that's me." I move the box and sigh. "How are you today ma'am?"
"I'm wonderful. Your apartment is ready to go! When will you be here?" I smiled excitedly.
"I'll be there within the hour!"
—
I parked the car and smile as I raced up the stairs towards the elevator and pressed the arrow to go up. I was so excited.
"This is it." I whispered, I was on my own.
I got in as the doors open, I was eager to see my apartment. The doors close and I pressed the number 4. Finally, I can be happy.
The elevator moves slowly as it rose to the level I needed to go to, my heart was exploding from excitement.
As soon as the doors opened, I shot out and ran to D13. The apartment manager was there at the door at the time I asked to meet her there. She was always on time.
"Hi!" She saw me and smiled, her arm rose to wave as I walked towards her.
"Hey there!" She chuckled at my enthusiasm. "Ready to move in?"
"You know it, Claire!" Claire smiled once again as she handed me the keys.
"Then the apartment is officially yours, you know the drill for payment each year, right?" I nod my head as she moved for me to open the door.
"I'm so excited," I unlock the apparent door and open it, the door made no creaking noise, this was so awesome.
"You seem surprised."
"Yeah, my old apartment door creaks, this one doesn't," I reply with a giddy smile, "No more creepy noises." I flick the lights on and gasped at how nice it was inside.
"This is all yours," she smiles, I went in and did what any responsible person would do, check all the water. I checked the kitchen to see if the plumbing worked, which it did.
"I learnt this ages ago, check the water," she nods.
"Smart kid," she responds, "people don't check it," Claire follows as she too checks.
Claire was just an agent for apartment managers, but even they don't know if everything works in the house.
"All the water seems to work, now for outlets," I said as I felt the hot water hit my hands from the shower, it was good pressure. I turn it off and then shake off the water.
"Good thinking kiddo."
—
Everything was in order, Claire went over everything with me in terms of payment, what I could and couldn't do... which wasn't a lot of things I couldn't do, I like that.
I couldn't make loud noises after 11pm, if I paint a wall make sure to paint back to white before I move out... all that type of stuff.
—
Everything was moved in, I left Jake a note and I even returned his car, I'm going to get my own car soon. I walked into my apartment and smiled, it was mine.
"Mine," I giggled as I ran to the bedroom and jumped on to the bed, I squealed in excitement as I rolled around and laughed. I was finally happy, finally feeling free.
My phone suddenly rang, snapping out of my fantasy, I sighed as I saw my phone and Jake's name was there.
"Nope," I turned my phone off and put it on the bedside table as I grab my dinosaur plushy and smiled at him. "Hi Dino!" I cuddled him as I roll around happily with him in my clutches.
This was my new start, my new way of living. I'm going to make a video soon, but right now I'm going to enjoy life.
"I need groceries," I deadpan before laughing, this is going to be awesome!
—
"I need everything," I muttered as I wandered around the supermarket looking for everything on my list.
"A healthy new start, I'm sick of wasting money on take out. I want to learn how to cook and how to be healthy, so I'm going to buy a health book." I told my phone as I recorded myself in the grocery store.
I grabbed eggs, then wandered around for things I wanted as I ticked them off of my list one by one.
—
I unpacked my groceries and sat down on my couch afterwards, the apartment did come with furniture except for my bed and a few other things, but that didn't stop me from enjoying life here.
"OK! This is my new apartment, I'll give you guys a tour!" I sprung off my couch and turned my camera around to show off the living room.
"This is my living room, I put the tv and all my appliances together myself since I'm a smart cookie..."
I wandered up the stairs to my office area as I spoke about what brought this insanity on with me moving to a different apartment complex.
This was going to be my new beginning, and I was so excited to find myself happy somewhere else.
But what if Jake disowns me? What if we fight again? Or will he love the new place?
This was all in my head, I don't care anymore, I'm a grown woman who won't take shit from anybody anymore.
"I'll do a live soon," I told myself, then I can show the world who I truly am.
