(Cassandra pov)

I was sitting in Jake's bedroom as he was calling his parents, I glanced at him before nervously playing with my nails.

"Hey sweetie! How are you?" I heard a woman's voice say and I look at the phone, Jake looks at me and smiles.

"Hey mom, I'm good but I have a surprise for you and the family," Jake told her and I let out a small nervous sigh.

"What's up Jake?" His mom asks him, "you keep looking somewhere else."

"Uhh, are you all free?" He asks her.

"Yeah! I'll call everyone down here, Reggie came down here to the house for a visit the other day." She told him and I tied my hair up before fixing my hat.

"Are you able to call them down?" Jake asks her.

"Kids! Jack! Come down here for a minute please?" She calls and I motioned jake to mute himself, he does and looks at me.

"What am I supposed to call her? Grandma? Nan?" I ask him and he looked at his phone before shrugging.

"Okay, my moms name is Lora, when I introduce you to her after her freak out why don't you ask her?" I nod my head in agreement before he smiled and rubbed my back.

"Thanks Jake," he only smiles before looking back at his phone and unmuted himself.

"Okay, we're all here, what's the surprise Jake?" Lora asks him and then he smiles excitedly.

"Hey everyone! I have someone for you to meet, Cassy," I scooted closer to Jake and he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "I adopted her yesterday." They all stare at me before Lora's eyes widen and she smiles.

"Oh, my god! Jake you adopted a teenager?" I tilt my head before laughing.

"She's 15, yeah but this kid was in the adoption centre for 9 years," Jake told them and I nod along, "sorry, Casandra Evans, this is my family, our family now." He told me and I smiled.

"Hi," I shyly wave and they all waved back at me.

"Yo so you're a dad now?" Jake nods his head and I glanced at him.

"I don't call him anything but his name though," I told them, "it's weird."

"That's true, hey, I'm Jillian," I waved.

"Hi!" I smiled.

"I'm Reggie, guess I'm an uncle now?" I shrug my shoulders.

"I don't know what you want me to call you so just let me know, I'm gonna just go with names for now but whatever you want me to call you, I'll do that." I told them all, "I know this is weird... it's weird for me too."

"Trust me, I didn't think I was going to adopt a child until I saw your video," Jake said to me and I smile, he fixes my hat and I giggled, he took it off my head and then put it on.

"You're mean," I mumbled and he chuckles.

"Anyway, guys what are your thoughts?" Jake asks them.
