(One year later and they're in their apartments) (Cassy is now 17 because last year she was 15 turning 16)
(Cassandra pov)
I was sitting in class bored out of my goddamn mind, 'I wonder what Jake's doing right now, maybe he's annoying Sam and Colby... maybe we're gonna get evicted again... what's Aunt Corey up to? Maybe he's making dance videos again...maybe–'
"Cassandra Webber!" I jumped slightly before looking towards the teacher, "I will once again ask you what this signifies," my teacher points towards the board and I look at it before sighing.
"Red carpet in this section of the chapter means that romance or lust is coming up," I answer in a monotone voice, she nods her head in satisfaction.
"Next time you zone out in my class I'll give you detention if you don't answer me," she gave me a look and I returned it with a thumbs up, a few people snickered as I dropped my hand and then looked back out of the window. "Cassandra."
"Sorry," I mumbled as I look back towards the teacher as she started talking about our assignment.
"It's a 4000 worded essay you have to do so I suggest you finally pay attention, Cassandra, I'm especially talking to you given that you never even pay attention in the first place."
"That's not my fault," I retort, "I have a very short attention span, sorry I can't pay attention to the most boring class of my entire life," I sassed.
"Out," my teacher barks and I stood up, "I don't tolerate gay, inconsiderate children," I took a deep breath in before leaving the class.
"Okay," I answer before sitting out in the hallway, "wait did she just call me gay?" I asked myself before balling my fists up tightly, my nails were digging into the palms of my hands but I didn't care, I couldn't feel the scorching pain anyway.
–
The bell rings and I slowly stood up and went back inside to grab my belongings. The teacher gave me a dirty look while I picked my pencilcase up and ignore her as I collected my books and headed out of the room to my next class.
"Cassy!" Someone calls out and I glance over my shoulder, a girl ran up to me and she smiles, "I'm sorry Mrs Kennedy called you inconsiderate, I think that was too far," her face was flushed with red as she walked with me.
"Hey, don't even stress...?" I waited for her name and she jumps slightly.
"Oh! My name is Brianna Welsehood, sorry Cassandra," she chuckles as her face got a little redder, she was flustered.
"Are you okay, Brianna?" I asked her.
"Who, me? Yeah! I'm okay I just ran from the classroom to catch up to you," she replies and we both turn the corner.
"Are we in the same class again?" I asked her curiously.
"Uhh if you're meaning Art then yes we are," she answers and I nod my head.
"This is going to be incredibly boring," I informed her as I dodged a trashcan, "oi! Fuck up and stop throwing trashcans!" I shouted as the boys laugh, I rolled my eyes as I shove Brianna forward and we kept walking side by side.
"Ohh! Brianna has her faggot of a girlfriend with her! ohh lookie here boys," I huffed as I grabbed Brianna's wrist and dragged her with me to class so they would leave her be.
"Fuck off!" I shouted in annoyance as we went around another corner and I let her wrist go.
"Thanks, Cassy," I glance at the poor girl before smiling.
