Chapter 1

Hope~

He's my brother...

Then that means dad had an affair.

Oh my God.

I felt like I was drowning, all of these questions started to fill up. My brain felt like it was going to burst if I don't stop thinking for one second.

It took me a while to calm down. When I did my breathing went back to normal. Minus the small headache, I was good. I think

Flipping through the papers I came across some different types of documents. They were court documents.

One paper talked about custody, while the other one was some type of agreement.

The thing that surprise me was that the agreement is about keeping it a secret. By it, I mean Dean.

Who is referred to as and it so many times in the long-ass paragraph I had to read. At the bottom was the signature of the man I thought I could look up to.

Reno Valentino

His signature was there along with Bella. The one that surprised me the most was that Mitch's signature was on it as well.

The headache at this point was starting to hurt even more. Deciding on not reading anymore, I throw the papers on the floor and crawl into bed.

I'm so confused by all this. Why is Mitch's signature on this?

Does he know something?

I have so many questions and yet not even one I could
answer.

"Ugh!" I shouted throwing the pillow to the wall. The painting on the wall fell.

Shit, it was in a glass picture frame.

The glass frame shattered making a quiet but loud noise as it hits the ground. Great now everyone most have heard that.

"Hope?!" it was Hayden. Give him 4 secon-

The door was just flung opened interrupting my thoughts.

Seriously I thought I locked that.

"Are you all right?" No..yes

"I'm fine, but my picture frame isn't," I said sitting up on the bed. Hayden walked over to pick up the pieces of glass.

My eyes immediately went to the paper on the floor. Just great

While he was picking up the glass I got of my bed.

"Hope where are you going?" Hayden says crossing his arms.

"Nowhere," I tried hard to not act suspicious. He was to focus on me to even notice the paper.

"Go back in that bed before you step on a piece of glass" he firmly said, I gave up.

I kept my eyes on the paper. Still, yet he hasn't seen-

Spoke too soon.

He's seen it.

"Hayden wait!" His attention quickly went from the paper to me.

"Yes?"

My brain was trying to think of a way to get him to put down the paper.

And then it hit me.

"Why didn't you tell Roman the truth?" he sighs throwing the paper on my bed.

"We're not going to talk about this Hope" He's ignoring it. For reasons, I don't know why.

"Why are you ignoring i-"

"Hope just Stop!" he quietly yells putting his hands in his hair.

"You know about the doctor we were looking for right?"

"Yeah did you find him?" ever since we got here that's all they have been doing.

"Yes," he didn't have to say it. I could already see the pain and the grief.

"He's dead right" he nodded his head.

"Yeah"

I never met this doctor guy and judging by my brother's face, I could tell he was part of the family.

"Was he a traitor?"

Hayden shook his head no.

"Then why was he killed?"

Way to go Hope Can't you just mind your business for once.

"I wish I have the answer to that," he says laying back on the bed. Go ahead make yourself comfortable.

"Now why don't you tell me what's in that paper that I just picked up"

"It said something about paternity test"

oh my gosh help.

We are back in....I was going to say business, but I'm not sure what this is.

We are back to writing. That sounds right!!

I'm so happy to get started on this book. I hope you enjoy it.

Also So sorry for the short chapter. I promise they will be longer as we go along.
