Chapter 28

When I woke up, Vladen was still sleeping.

I had asked so many questions, as to who had brought him in and where he was found. All the doctors know was that a man that looked around his 20s or older brought him in. The doctor couldn't describe him because he had bruises on his face which he didn't want to be checked.

The doctors told me that when Vladen was brought in, he had been beaten badly starved, and dehydrated.

I was so worried about him when I didn't get any calls from him for days. I got fucking worried.

So when my phone started to ring in the middle of getting ready for Hope's party, I thought it was him. But instead, it was a nurse.

Asking me if I knew a man by the name of Vladen, and said that I was his emergency contact.

I started crying like a fucking baby before the nurse could even say what was happening. I had barged into Blake's room and cried in his arms when they told us that Vladen was in surgery because he was hurt badly and needed surgery.

Blake was surprised when I cried in his arms, but he didn't seem to mind. He knew something was wrong.

Vladen is like a dad to me. Ever since mine died, Vladen has been somewhat of an inspiration and if he had died, it would've felt like losing a parent all over again.

I look over at him again and saw that he was staring at me. "You look l-like shit," he weakly said.

Tears started to fall from my eyes, as I pulled the chair close to him. "Fuck I thought I lost you old man,"

Vladen chuckled. "N-not yet and I'm n-ot old,"

"What the fuck happened? How did this all happen?" Vladen's heart machine started to beat faster. "Vladen what's wrong?" I asked, panicked.

"Where is he? Is he alright?" Vladen asked, looking around. "Whos he? The man who brought you in?"

Vladen nodded, groaning in pain. "Yes,"

"I don't know, he left, even though I want to thank him for bringing you in," I said.

"Roman Celia isn't who she says she is," Vladen said to me, and my smile fell.

I was confused. "What do you mean?"

"She's not Celia, she's Celia's twin sister," I didn't know what to say, I was shocked and confused.

I didn't know my aunt had a sister. "So what happened to my aunt? What happened to Celia?" I questioned.

"I had to spend a lot of money because some of this information came with a price. But according to a document, Celia died when she went on a trip. She was sick, she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She had gone to visit her sister, and never came back. But Celeste did. According to neighbors and Celeste had a funeral for herself but it was her. It was Celia. I had to confirm it was true by comparing pictures and digging through old memories. Asked around, the town where they lived and visited the grave site. Which was what confirmed it, her gravestone didn't say Celeste. It said, Celia."

I didn't know what to say, I was shocked, angry, and Confused, and I felt like throwing up. How could someone just take their sister's identity? Why.

"And that isn't all," Vladen says, causing me to feel even sicker.

"The man that brought me here was your uncle," And this was my breaking point.
