Chapter 17Bella
As I sat down under the umbrella drinking my drink I couldn't help but think of Mitch.
I missed him so much. Its hard to admit even when my heart belong to someone else.
Some part of me loved Mitch. He was love, might not be love of my life but I had feelings for him.
My act wasn't all and act.
Some Parts were real.
"Bella," snapping out of my thoughts. I look up to see Julie Ferd standing just a few feet away. Hands on hips, dressed in a black suit. Typical Julie. She has always been the business type dresser. Even when we were growing up, this girl never knew what a short pants was. People even called her tomboy Jules, because she never wore less. As the boys said. "Julie,"
Standing up from my seat I pulled her into a hug.
After the hug we both sat back down in silence. Julie showed her signs of disgust when she eyed my burger.
Always the healthy living type.
"Old habits never change. I see." I said, Julie rolled her eyes. She opens her purse, pulling out wet wipes. She must have realize I was watching her. Looking up she sends a smile my way. "Germs. Hate them."
I nodded my head, biting the inside of my cheeks. Trying to stop myself from a eye rolled.
When she was done wiping the table, she dispose of the wipes in the trash can by the burger stand. Sitting back down, she sanitized her hands before touching anything. "So how's it been since the last time we talked?" She asked waving a hand at one of the outside waiters.
"Life's been great." I lied hoping to get away with it but she still saw into my bullshit. Julie leans back into the chair, staring at me.
"How is everything with you and that Cop guy?" I question remembering her saying she's seeing some one.
I watched as she place her hand on her chin. A ring on her fourth finger.
I felt a little jealous. That was me years ago.
I looking down at my bare finger then looked back up at her. "He proposed?" I smiled at her as she jumps a little in her seat.
"Isn't it amazing?" she excitedly says. I nodded my head, drinking done the last bit of coke. "Don't tell me your pregnant too?" Julie shook her head no with out hesitation.
"Not tryna get knocked up yet Belle and you know I fucking hate kids." She says, I gave her a look clearly confused as to her anger towards kids consider she has two herself.
Before I could reply the waiter finally show up.
"Good evening Ma'am what can I get you?" He asked looking at Julie. He turn to me. Poor boy his eyes seemed like they had been shedding tears. "Are you all right?" Julie asked, she's always been caring when she's not manipulating you.
The boy lets out a small sobbed chuckled. "I'm fine just messed up my relationship with my best friend of 17 and we're slowly drifting apart. And it hurts." Tears started fall from his eyes. He quickly wipes his tears away and mutters an apology.
My eyes drift to my bare finger again.
Julie noticed it but I didn't care.
"Sorry to hear that-" she pause to read his name tag. "Mica right?" He nodded his head. "I know it hurt, I've been in your place before. But sometimes people aren't meant to meet or be together. Maybe if you give it time you'll both see that it was a stupid fight or let faith decided. Maybe if you wait for the right time, things will work out. " Mica smiles at her seeming a little better now. "Thank you for that. I really needed some encouraging words." Julie nodded her head.
