Chapter 14

Hope

I walk past the crowd of people, I didn't even know some of these kids and yet I'm here. Anyways I did end up going to the party after Jay brought in the birthday card. I did care it was his birthday but I wanted to live.

After Blake said he was going to visit a gang territory and talk business with their leader. He told us that we had the house for ourselves and that I and Jay along with his friends will be the only ones home.

Since everyone had stuff to do, they just bought Jay gifts and had him open them as he got them.

I had to buy my gift last minute last night so it came hours later. It was a chain that had Luca on it. His last name. He absolutely loved it.

Well, that's if I can find it, I've been walking around this crowded party trying to find it for hours now.

The entire atmosphere in this house smelt like alcohol and cigars. Like who the hell let their child threw a party. A lot of the songs were from Tyler the Creator, one song was in another language, and some by a female singer.

I cried out in disgust as I crawl on the floor looking for the necklace, it was somewhere around this area cause it was where I saw it fall off his neck. When my eyes caught something shiny I quickly crawl my way through some people's legs who didn't seem to mind.

Just as I was about to grab it someone else did.

"L-Look what I-I found guys!" the guy slurred, showing his friend beside him the chain. I stand up brushing myself off. Anger boil inside me, I didn't just crawl on a dirty ass floor just for a drunk dude to take what's not his.

I'm sure his last name ain't even Luca.

"That's mine!" I said taping his shoulder. The guy turns around smiling, dangling the chain in my face.

"You have to kiss me to get it," he whispers in my face, I could smell his breath and it didn't smell good.

"Over my dead body, now give it back!" he lets out a laugh so did his friend.

"What you going to do about it pretty fac-"

"The girl says give it back you give it back!" I turn around to see a guy standing on the stairs. He yelled so loud that it attract stares, but no one seem to care they just went back to dancing.

"Sorry Nicolas didn't know she was with you!" the guy quickly gives me back the chain before pushing his way through the crowd. I turn around to see that Nicolas was now standing beside me staring at me.

"Names Nicolas but you already heard that," he says chuckling.

Now that he was in the light, I could see his dark black hair. It took me a second to realize he was Sylvester's brother.

"So am I going to get your name or not?" he smiles.

"Hope" I saw something in his eyes for a second....anger.

"Valentino right?" I flinched a little at the disgust in his voice. I nodded my head, hoping he would drop whatever hatred he had for my family. But he didn't.

He said something under his breath then walked away.

Deciding to ignore what just happened I made my way outside where Jay and the others were. I quickly turned around when I saw Jay kissing someone. Seriously why did he bring me here?

"Hey, Hope!" I saw Diamond walking towards me in a tutu. Apparently, some of her brother's male friends were teasing her about wearing a tutu and so she wore it to the party where all of his friends are.
