Chapter 23

Blake

"So it's all a lie?" Dean questions, glaring at the real results.

I nodded my head, as I stared at him. His reaction was just like I imagine.

"So we're siblings?" Again I nodded, not saying anything.

I too couldn't take it in, I was angry and started to question the hospital that gave me the results.

It's still shocking and I still have nothing to say. Just a lot of anger towards my father, because he was still married to my mother around that time Dean was made.

He cheated on the one woman that would take a bullet for him. Travel the end of the world to be with him and yet he still found a way to still mess that up.

"Why didn't we tell the truth?" Dean asked, throwing the paper on the desk.

"It's better to lie than tell the truth," I replied, which was a lie.

My brothers looked up to my father. Hope never met him, and for her to paint a horrible picture of him, hurts.

Father was a horrible man, he did horrible things and I don't want Hope knowing about them.

Which is why I chose to lie.

"That's a horrible, reason," Dean says, as he sat down in the chair in front of my desk.

"I chose this path, and I'll stay on it," I firmly said, which was a warning for him to keep quiet about it.

Dean chuckled, pouring himself a drink. "I won't say shit, my father shouldn't know, and my brothers too."

I nodded, agreeing with him. "Guess family does lie," A voice said, making Dean choke on his liquor.

Roman walked into the room, his hair was messy and he looked like he hadn't gotten much sleep. "How long were standing by the door?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

Roman, grab a glass cup and poured himself a shot. "Not long,"

Dean still seems startled, while I was getting worried from the bags under his eyes.
"Have you been sleeping for these past two days?" I questioned, and Roman turns to me.

"Are you my mom now?" He asked, glaring at me.

"I'll take this as my leave," Dean says and I stopped him, not done talking to him.

I turn back to Roman. "I just asked you a question,"

"Well fucking don't," Roman was getting all heated over one question which confused me and made me heated by his tone.

"Blake I'll just wait outside-"

"No stay Dean, I'm sure our brother has things he wants to say. " And he left, leaving Dean shocked and I angry at him for the word brother.

In some way, I've always thought of Dean as my brother but now since I've seen the results. It's all-new.

"I'll just leave," Dean, got up and I didn't stop him.

Forgetting the other reason I wanted him to stay.

All I could think about was the word.

Brother.
