2 months later
After everything, Jessica and I finally agreed to go on our date. I was a little nervous as to what my brothers would say cause I didn't know if they supported the LGBTQ+ community.
Years ago, I would've never thought that I would be going on a date with someone that was a girl. I've never shown interest in liking boys so I always assumed I was on the gay spectrum.
But then again, I never showed interest in girls until recently when Jessica asked me out.
I don't know why but the thought of being with Jessica made my stomach flutter, in a good way. Almost felt like those cheesy butterflies in romance books that we so often hear about.
My cheeks get red, at the thought of her. I never had a crush on her before so why am I feeling like this?
"Hope?" I look up to see Grandma staring at me from the door.
"Yes?" I replied.Grandma and Grandpa had been staying with us for over a month now. Grandma was happy to see her younger son again, she hadn't let him out of her sight in weeks since she's been here.
"What are you thinking about?" She asks, coming to sit beside me on the bed. I turn my face, to hide my blush.
"Uh I have a date," I quietly mutter and she Smiles wide.
"Who's the lucky girl?" My eyes went a little wide at the word girl. "How did you-"
"I'm your grandma, and also I overheard you talking to Jessica," I blush red, as I hide my face in my pillow.
"Don't be shy now, because we all know you were never shy," Grandma says making me chuckles, my face still pressed against the pillow.
[Not grandma calling us out, oops /: ]
"Now why don't I help you get ready for your first date," and that was how I spent my morning and afternoon. Trying clothing that made me feel comfortable.
I decided I was going plain for our date because this was our first date and Jessica suggested that we go watch a movie and then have lunch which sounded great.
I was just so happy.
"I will need to take pictures and do your hair, omg. Your mother and father would've loved this!" She gushed, playing with my hair.
I was still curious about something. "Would they have supported it?"
Grandma turned me around and smiled. "They loved you so much, of course they would have,"
And that made me very happy. So when the day of the date came around, I was very nervous as I started to get ready. I didn't know what would happen or how should I act.
I have never been on a date before and I still haven't told the rest about my date.
I stood in front of the mirror staring at my outfit which was just a cute pink dress. I still ended up picking a dress even though this date was casual.
When Jessica arrived, she looked stunning. She wore a red dress, that went down to her knee. She had her hair out of a ponytail, I did not even know it was that long.
My brothers were home but I was certain they didn't spend too much of their time in the living room so I just left without saying bye, because Grandma knew where I was.
The movie that we went to watch was the new Scream movie, which I loved but hate at the same time because of what they did to Dewey Riley. He was my favorite.
I couldn't believe they tried it, after so many years.
But anyway, we barely spoke since we were in a movie. After that, we had lunch and spoke about college and moving in together as roommates and made even as partners. Well, that's if we made it past the date 4.
Which we did.
"You have not been sharing anything with me," Nonna says, as our brushes moved in sync with one another. "Well, we've been continuing dating because we haven't had the chance to label it,"
Grandma shakes her head. "Okay, I understand,"
That was all we ever spoke about the matter because eventually, Jessica did become my girlfriend.
Things were going great.
I was finally excited to be free from the hold of Bella and her crazy fantasy.
I was happy now and ready to move on, and start over with my family.
La mia famiglia.
