You lie there sleeping, to the ceiling I stare thinking
I wish we had more time, if only just an inkling
But once more we're called by the machine's clinking
Another week of stacking pennies, unthinking
If only we were rich, relaxing with our glasses clinking
But sadly we're not, so we return to work unblinking
But at least you're there to keep me from sinking
