Dangerous Mystery

Chapter three

"Dear ladies and gentlemen. I'm honored to welcome you everyone at Mr. Masarottos Show Jumping Show!" greeted us moderator, and from one tall, wide door we were hearing hoof-steps.

"Please, welcome with applause first rider - Cadence Flowerspeed with her horse - Flora." as I have heard the name of the rider, I have thought I know her... I knew her...

I felt like I have heard it before...

That's not possible! A wave of heat swept over me.

That Cade? Oh God.

I need to visit her after! I miss her...

With Cade, we were besties in elementary school.

Our ways sadly split, as we've had to go to high school, but I've never forgotten her.

And now... we're meeting again!

I need to visit her after...

I've watched her jumping over the obstacles, not touching even one time and in the background was some song.

She has told me she's going to go to some horses' academy...

Now I've seen she has a real talent in riding and I was glad we have split.

It ended well for us both, plus now I have a chance to go meet her again...

This is even not a question!

I have watched a few next riders then, patiently waiting to get a chance visit Cade, the waiting felt like hours... I think it was only one hour, or two... but it felt like a decade I can tell.

When the moderator noted: "Thank You for watching! Now we'll have a short break - in meantime You can buy something in the little shop in the lobby! We'll call You after the break ends!"

and I started feeling nervous.

"Have You seen HER?" I asked Maggie, Annie, and Nell with excitement in my voice.

"Who do You mean? I've seen lots of female riders - here are female riders only," said Ann, trying to provoke me.

"No! I meant Cadence Flowerspeed! She was my bestie at elementary school..." I informed them about the situation.

"You mean HER? We should visit her right away," hyped me Maggie.

"You think so? You think she still remembers me?" I felt confused and scared, this time I had a reason. I wasn't sure how she's gonna react at all, and I didn't know, what I could do when negative.

"WE should, you silly." hyped me Nell with an honest smile on her face.

"Okay..." I answered nervously as we were getting up from chairs. We headed into the lobby, and we were looking around us, finding doors leading to HER, or HER in the lobby.

The second option was right - we found her buying some candy at the little shop with a few next girls - probably her friends...

Here was the moment of anxiety.

We were just not moving. At least Maggie, me, and Nell...

As I've seen Ann going to the group of girls fastly, I freeze.

I already see how's it gonna be awkward...

Ann is a very... friendly person - no one can doubt that.

But sometimes she's friendly way too much, but I can't know, because she threatens me with throwing a plate on me.

The people turned around, watching Ann.

She didn't look somehow nervous.

"Hi! Nice to meet you." Ann started all of sudden.

"Hey! And You are?" asked a girl with a blond ponytail, and I recognized her at that moment - she was in the show too.

"Hi!" greeted Cade.

"I'm a sister of Anette Catwolf. She was friends in elementary with Cade, girls, come here!" Ann called us, and I wasn't able to make a move.

Why Ann acted so brainless?

It doesn't work that way...

Or at least that's what I thought.

Maggie and Nell started to move, I did too.

Slowly, carefully, I wanted to just disappear at that moment.

I was like in a trap, with no way back. No step-backs.

"Wait- Anette!" shouted Cade and ran across me to hug me.

"Hiiii..." I greeted her timidly.

"We haven't seen in years!" noted Cade and I was even surprised how nice she was to me. This for sure wasnt the disaster I was expecting.

"Yea... we didn't, I missed You! I'm so happy to see You again!" I said to her, while we've stopped hugging. After this I've just found out I greet everyone with hugs.

Nell, Maggie, Cade... ya, that's my deviation.

"Well... this is my friend-" I pointed at Maggie, "this is my sister, as You know-" I pointed at Ann, "and there's my girlfriend Nell." I introduced them to everyone.

"Nice to Meet You, guys." said one girl with brown hair.

"Heyyyyy. I'm Sally, the girl with brown hair is Ali, the one with a blond ponytail is Hedvig, and I don't think I have to introduce Cade." ended my questions Sally.

"Good to know," Nell answered.

We were talking for a while.

I found out, that They're nice people and I was glad we met.

I think this is my best Birthday ever...

We talked openly and it seemed like we know each other at least for a few months.

The break had be long like half an hour, I think, so we still had time.

We still talked, talked, and talked...

"It was nice talking to You, but I need You to excuse me. I'll be right back." Ann excused herself and went straight to the restroom.

It felt like a dream...

But every dream ends once...

This chapter ended kinda mysteriously, don't you think? Might be hinting something exciting in the future 😉 Or at least exciting for us...

Also sorry for my activity, but I'm trying.
