The happiest place in the world. That's what it said on the huge banner. Lots of bright, colourful lights, flowers, the sound of people laughing, and having fun. It really did feel like the happiest place on earth, but why did Jade look as if she was about to cry? Leigh understood happy tears, but this was definitely not happy. The demon was looking at the large castle Infront of them, with a sad look on her face. Her eyes were sparkling, but not in a good way. It was as if something could trigger the tears in her eyes to come pouring out, with the faintest touch.

"Jade?" Leigh tapped the girl's shoulder, leaning forward to look at her face.

Jade jumped, and smiled and obviously fake smile. Leigh had known this girl for a short time, but even she could tell when she was pretending.

"Do you remember?" Jade asked, looking back over at the castle that was blasting uplifting melodies from a boombox.

Leigh squinted her eyes. Something in her was telling her to lie, to make Jade smile, a real smile. The majority of her seemed to want her to do that. She bit her lip, contemplating what to do. "No," she said, barley above a whisper. Jade deserved to know the truth.

Jade sighed, frustrated. "We used to always come here. Your mum was quite rich. Mine not so much. You would bring me with you on all your family holidays. Disney world was my happy place," she explained.

Leigh smiled. "So, it's your happy place?" She wondered.

"Yeah,"

"So why aren't you happy?" Leigh questioned, keeping her gaze on Jade.

Jade chuckled. "I wish I knew,"

Leigh nodded. She looked out again at the happy couples, with their children, posing for pictures with the mascots. "Did we do that?"

"Yep. In fact, I even applied for a job here once. I wanted to be princess Jasmine," Jade grinned, reminiscing about her childhood obsession with the character. "I didn't get the job though,"

"Oh? Well, they made a huge mistake then! You're perfect to be a princess. You're pretty, have a nice voice ... What else could they have been looking for?" Leigh asked, taking Jade's hand, and stroking her knuckles with her fingertips.

Jade blushed, slightly.

"Come on, let's go into the park, princess!" Leigh suggested, pulling on Jade's hand. Jade gasped, causing Leigh to stop in her tracks.

"You alright?" She asked, worried.

Jade nodded, a single tear rolling down her cheek. "You always used to call me that," she said, wiping the tear away. "We had a lot of nicknames for each other. Usually I was either Princess or Simba. You were Nala," she giggled.

Leigh chuckled. "Why did we name ourselves after characters that are a couple?"

Jade's eyes widened. "W-well uhm ... It was an inside joke of ours," she stuttered, giggling awkwardly.

Leigh shook her head. "Nevermind, let's go on some rides then, princess,"

--

After a lot of rides, and a lot of throwing up after them (mainly Leigh), they decided to go on a Ferris wheel. The sky was filled with stars, the moonlight lighting up the park. Jade and Leigh were sitting right next to each other, as the ride started going up.

Jade placed her hand on Leigh's. "We and our first- I mean, me and Lauren had our first kiss here," she quickly corrected herself, doing her signature awkward laugh.

Leigh turned her head to the blushing girl. "I thought you said that Lauren was just one of your crushes?" She said, furrowing her eyebrows. Her and Jade had talked about Lauren on their way there. Jade had mentioned Lauren as one of her crushes.

Jade mumbled something in return, not making eye contact with Leigh, and instead looking to the side. Leigh pulled her hand from underneath Jade's, and rested it on her lap.

"I feel like you're lying to me about something," she said, also looking away from her.

Jade said nothing in response.

Question: who do you believe? Jade or Leigh?
