"Leigh?" The sound of Jade's voice coaxed Leigh into waking up. She groaned, but immediately shot up from her laying position when a sob escaped Jade's lips.

"Jade? What's wrong?" She asked, cupping the girl's head in her hands, forcing them to look each other in the eyes.
Jade just choked up on her words, crying too hard to form words. Leigh did the first thing she could think of, which was pecking Jade on the cheek. Jade started sobbing even more from that simple gesture, making Leigh bite her lip in regret. "Jadey, what's wrong?" She let Jade cling onto her, tangling her fingers in the brunette locks.

After about five minutes, Jade's cries started to calm down, letting her spill out everything that had been on her heart. "I missed you so much. It hurts knowing you don't love me anymore. That I became a stranger who doesn't ever cross your mind anymore. I tried to forget you too, but you're too unforgettable. I'd dream of you all the time. Any time I did it, it would start off with us in the car, laughing. I'd hear your cute laugh, and it'd make my heart melt," She chuckled slightly, before her eyes filled with more tears again. Leigh let her cry, let her soak her shirt in her tears. She didn't care about being clean, all she cared about was holding Jade.

"Soon enough," Jade continued. "I'd lose control of the car. I'd crash into the side of a bridge, making me fall out of my opened window. I managed the escape. You were still trapped inside though," She paused for a second, holding on tighter to Leigh as if she were a magnet. She let out the loudest sob yet, making Leigh wince from the heartbreaking sound, trying to hold back her own tears. Jade scoffed, and her voice went quiet "It took me five minutes to get your body out of the water. You weren't breathing. You died in my arms, and there was nothing I could do to save you,"

Jade turned her head, and buried herself in the crook of Leigh's neck. "It's okay, I'm here," Leigh said, quietly. She gently pulled on Jade's thighs, situating her on her lap. The thought and sight of this seemingly horrible creature, being so vulnerable in an angels arms, both being beautiful and tragic to Leigh. Jade put on such a happy, carefree act, all to protect Leigh from the truth. She could understand why she kept this to herself for so long, but it still hurt. She would of course, never blame Jade for any of this.

After a few minutes, Leigh swallowed a lump in her throat. "How did you die then? You didn't die in the crash?" She felt Jade shake her head on her chest, raising her head to talk again.

"No. I went home that evening. I tried to sleep, but everything reminded me of you. I couldn't take it any longer. I went back to the bridge, and decided I wanted to die where you died. I should have been dead, not you. I could never fix what had happened, but I knew a way to forgive myself a little," her voice shook near the end, shaken up from the memory.

Leigh let out a sob, she had kept inside too long to hide anymore. She understood what Jade was implying without having to think. She tightened her grip on the saddened girl, not wanting to let go anytime soon.

"I'm so sorry!" Jade cried, the scream muffled by Leigh's torso.

"It wasn't your fault, Jade," Leigh shh'd. She took a deep breath. "You said that I don't love you anymore? That I don't think about you?"

Jade nodded, a single tear making it's way down her cheek.

"I can assure you, that ever since our adventure started, you've been on my mind constantly. Non-stop," she said, kissing the crown of Jade's head. She smirked slightly. "If I had a dime for every time you crossed my mind, I'd be broke 'cos you never leave my mind,"

Jade laughed at the corny pickup line. "That's cheesy as fuck," she giggled.

Leigh playfully swatted her shoulder, laughing alongside her. "What I'm trying to say is," she lifted Jade's chin with her finger, staring deeply into her eyes. "I'm in love with you," within an instant, Jade's lips were ontop of hers. Their mouths moulding together perfectly.

Jade pulled away soon after, causing a whine to escape Leigh's lips. "I love you too," Leigh smiled. "More than words can say," she leaned up to place a chaste kiss on her lips. "Will you be my girlfriend again?" She asked with a tremble in her voice.

Leigh giggled, making butterflies errupt in Jade's stomach. "Of course!" She answered, smiling widely.

Jade pressed her lips against Leigh's, wanting to treasure these moments again. Back when they were mortal, she had never truly appreciated these moments enough, so she felt like she needed to make up for lost time. She pulled away, before the kiss could get any more heated, a thought in her mind that made her heart sink to her stomach.

"What happens when we go back home? We won't be able to be together again," she questioned.

"I won't mind falling through a cloud every once in a while," Leigh joked, cracking Jade up in a fit of laughter.

The laughter died down after a while, the two girls just looking into each others love filled eyes. "Whatever happens, please promise me one thing," Jade started.

"Anything, darling,"

"Don't forget me again,"

"Never in a million years,"

Question: do you think she'll keep her promise?
