Leigh-Anne was laying on her bed. She wasn't asleep, nor was she struggling to do so. She simply laid there, peacefully.

Her calm state was soon interrupted by whimpers, and mumbles of: "no," and "please, stop,"

She sat up, and began examining the room, trying to figure out what was going on. Her gaze shifted to Jade, who was curled on the floor, with a distraught expression on her face. Her red horns were now glowing.

Leigh stood up, and made her way over to the girl. She cautiously knelt down next to her, careful as to not startle her awake. "Baby! I'm sorry!" Jade cried out, tears streaming out of her squinted eyes.

"Jade, it's okay. You're having a nightmare. It's not real," Leigh soothed, combing her fingers through the girl's hair.

Jade shot up from her sleep, panting and sweating. She took a moment to regain her breath, closing her eyes, and letting some lone tears escape her eyes.

"Jade?" Leigh said, just above a whisper. Jade turned to her, her breath hitching in her throat upon seeing her. She bit her lip, and cleared her throat.

"Yeah?" She managed to say, her voice only cracking a little bit.

Leigh looked at her, concern written on her face. Jade looked so tough, like nothing could ever hurt her. She was immortal afterall, but that was all just a mask. Sitting Infront of her, was a girl hiding all her problems from the world. Leigh had started questioning everything her friends had told her about demons, and hell in general. What if most of them really were just broken souls, not been given a chance to prove their innocence before being sentenced to eternity in a burning world.

"Jade, what happened?" She hesitantly asked.

Jade shook her head, brushing off the situation. "It's fine. Just one of my reoccurring nightmares," she said, shrugging.

"Do you get them often?" Leigh wondered, shifting closer to Jade.

Jade chuckled. "You really don't know much about demons, do you?" Leigh shook her head. She tilted her head, curiously.

Jade sighed, before explaining. "We demons get nightmares almost every night. The dreams are about what we did to get us into hell. We're reminded of how terrible we are, and it's really mentally draining,"

Leigh was suprised. She had never thought of how horrible that must be for demons. Even if they were terrible, she couldn't imagine the pain that must've brought them. She gave her a sympathetic smile, assuring her that she would listen to her, without judgement. "Is there a way I can help?" She offered.

Jade smiled, grateful that Leigh was offering to help her. "Usually, I just need a change of scenery. Sometimes, I go to the gates. That's where I saw you," she said. Leigh giggled.

Jade raised an eyebrow at her. "What's so funny?"

Leigh's looked back up at her, still giggling. "Just thinking about how I fell when I saw you. I probably looked like a dork,"

"Nah, you'd be a cute dork though," Jade chuckled.

Leigh blushed, looking down at her hands again. They stayed in comfortable silence, until something popped into Leigh's mind. "When can I go home?" She asked, accidentally ruining the mood.

Jade's smile fell, and she looked down at the floor beneath her. "We can go back whenever we want to. I can just teleport you back up there, but then we'll most likely never see each other again," she explained, sadly.

Leigh made an 'o' shape with her mouth. In all honesty, she didn't want to leave yet. She wanted to spend as much time on earth as she could, that way, she could learn more about her life. Plus, she would be able to form a stronger friendship with Jade.

"Can we stay for a while longer? Maybe we could even go on a world tour!" She suggested, beaming with excitement.

Jade smiled at her childish state. She definitely didn't want to ruin Leigh's mood by saying no. "I don't see why not," Leigh squealed, happily, and began jumping up and down on Jade's blanket.

She came down from her little joy outburst, confusion written on her features. "What country are we even in?" She questioned.

"Canada. America is closest to here, so we should probably go there first," Jade suggested. Leigh nodded, not knowing anything about geography anyway. Anything was fine for her.

--

"Food?" Jade asked, looking down at her checklist.

"Yep," Leigh answered, sitting next to their suitcase (which they totally didn't steal from a shop).

"Toothbrush, toilet paper and other bathroom stuff?"

"Yep!"

"Clothes?"

"Yep!"

"Well, seems like we're ready to go then," Jade observed, causing Leigh to squeal again.

Jade rolled her eyes, grinning from ear to ear, and walked over to the window. She looked outside at the sky.

Leigh followed behind her, placing a hand on the demon's back. Something tingled on Leigh's skin. She felt some kind of...connection? She removed her hand for a second, feeling as the sensation suddenly stopped. Slowly, she made contact again, and the feeling quickly came back.

"You alright, Lo- Leigh?" Jade quickly corrected herself. Leigh-Anne hummed in confusion for more than one reason. For one, what the heck was that feeling? And secondly, what was Jade going to call her?

"Nothing," she lied. She thought it was best to not ask her about any of that. She was sure that it was just an electric shock, and Jade just slipped up on her words. Yeah, that must've been it.

Jade smiled at her, looking back up at the sky. "Looks like it's going to be a sunny day. Not that it matters, we'll be above the clouds anyway," Leigh nodded.

"Let's go," she said, walking over the door.

--

Jade had one bag strapped to her front, with the straps connecting on her back. Leigh had done the same to the other bag. They had taken off their shirts, in order to free their wings.

Jade led Leigh over to a secluded mountain, hard to find for humans, not too hard to find for demons, who just so happened to have a sense for finding places.

"Okay, time to jump," she announced, looking back at a scared looking Leigh-Anne.

"Come on, it's not that scary. Just don't forget to use your wings before you hit the ground," Jade laughed.

Leigh chuckled, fear evident in her voice.

Jade noticed that Leigh was still scared. She sighed out, walked over to Leigh, grabbed her hand, and intertwined their fingers. "It's okay. I'm here with you," she assured, lifting the angel's head with her finger.

"I'm scared," Leigh worried.

"Everything you want is on the other side of fear, Leigh," Jade replied.

And with that, they jumped, catching their fall with their wings. Their wings carried them to their destination, while they enjoyed the scenery, and each others presence.
