Jeongguk sometimes wished he would've never left for that camp.

He wished he would've stayed home, in his mate's embrace, and live his life peacefully forever but, deep inside him, Jeongguk knew that would've never been possible.

At some point, someone would've come for him because even if he would've ignored the ancient soul residing inside him, it was still there, waiting to be awakened and drain him of his life force.

At some point, his life would've been destroyed anyway so there was nothing he could've done to avoid his fate.

Jeongguk shook his head, focusing his attention back on the plate he was holding, the meat and vegetables on it not appealing to him at all. His eyes remained on the lines taunting his skin, the marks every vessel of the primeval received once they were found. He hated them, he hated them even more when he realized that anyone else thought they were battle marks worthy of a strong warrior.

He was far from that.

Jeongguk hated the fact that he had to lie to his friends but he couldn't exactly do anything about it.

There were eyes on him at all times, Namjoon and Seokjin not leaving him out of their sight, not even once. The Primeval inside him was not awakened yet but, according to Seokjin, he was going to awaken soon, which scared Jeongguk.

He's been in contact with his wolf all his life but the idea of having a stronger soul overtake his spirit wolf scared him.

Jeongguk wasn't even sure how to cope with that but, fortunately, there were people who could help him learn.
