Yoongi walked closer, his head bumping into Taehyung's shoulder softly, a sign of greeting and also a scenting mark for everyone to know that Taehyung belonged to him.

He hated it, hated having another scent besides Jeongguk's on him but Taehyung needed to do this, he needed to know. So, with a smile on his face, he looked Yoongi in the eye.

"I have to gather flowers with the children. I'll meet you back at the pack, alright?"

The shifter tilted his head before he walked past them, the children staring at the large wolf in awe. With a sigh, Taehyung turned back towards the others, then smiled.

"Let's go."

Once they reached the clearing in the woods, Taehyung let go of the girl's hand, watching as she ran in the field and started picking flowers.

Taehyung then turned towards the three alphas. "Scatter and watch them."

Seungyoun gave a curt nod before running towards one end, the other two going towards different sides and circling the children. With one last sigh, Taehyung walked in the middle of the field, next to the little girl, then crouched down and started picking flowers with her.

They stayed there for almost one hour, gathering flowers the children could use to make their flower crowns but once Taehyung noticed the sky begin to darken, he decided to leave.

"C'mon guys, that's enough. Let's go back so that I can teach you how to properly make flower crowns, alright?"

They all cheered at that, some of them already running towards the pack as Taehyung crouched down and picked the little girl in his arms. She was younger than most of them and, even if her lineage was that of an alpha and she was supposed to present as one, she was still just a child who seemed pretty tired, her small hands rubbing at her eyes.

"Are you tired, Minnie?" Taehyung asked, the girl answering him with a soft yawn.

His heart melted when she buried her head in his shoulder, her hands holding tightly onto his shirt. He folllwed the others, Seungyoun walking right behind him so that no one would get left behind but, just as they were reaching the pack, Taehyung and the three shifters abruptly stopped, turning around.

Taehyung furrowed his brows as he stared into the distance, that well known howl still resonating into his ears. He quickly stalked towards Seungyoun, setting the little girl on his back.

"That's Jimin. Go back to the pack and announce the head alphas that something happened." Taehyung told him after he made sure that the girl was safely sat on his back and that she was gripping his fur in order to no fall.

When he turned around to leave, Seungyoun let out a growl, a warning for him to stay. Taehyung knew he could be walking straight into a rogue attack but he didn't care, not as long as Jimin's howl sounded so pained, not as long as he knew his friend was with Jeongguk as well.

With one last look thrown over his shoulder, Taehyung shouted. "Make sure the children are safe and come back fast! Follow my scent."

Running through the woods has always been his way of coping with the pain of not being next to his true mate, next to Jeongguk, but at that moment, as he breathlessly ran through the forest he knew too well, panic swelling his chest, Taehyung didn't find any comfort. He could only think of Jimin's call for help — because that was what the howl meant, a call for help.
