Taehyung woke up a few hours later due to his shivering body, realizing it was already getting dark, the sky having taken a purple shade now, as the sun went down. He got up, collecting the blanket and the book, then started walking back, not being afraid since the clearing wasn't that far from the pack grounds.

He arrived back in no time, seeing that everyone was already preparing to have dinner, cooking even more food than usual since the others were supposed to come back soon. Walking to the kitchen, Taehyung picked up some tomatoes, baked potatoes and fruit, slicing them up and putting them on a plate before he walked outside, sitting next to Hoseok, who was munching on some meat and baked potatoes as well. Hoseok didn't get much food either since he was a beta, considered a lower level wolf in their pack, and Taehyung thought that was wrong since betas did most of the work.

"Tae, I was wondering where you were. Do you want to have some too?"  Hoseok asked, pointing towards the pieces of meat he had, Taehyung just shaking his head.

"I'm good, you know I don't eat that much meat anyway."

Hoseok nodded and they both proceeded to eat in silence afterwards, watching as some pups ran around, still having the energy to play even after a full day of continuous running.

When Taehyung was finished, eating the last slices of mango, he got up, walking inside the main kitchen in order to wash his plate and help the other omegas cook for the rest. He was cleaning the tables when he heard commotion outside, hearing the head alphas' voice echo around everyone else's, calling every member of the pack out. Taehyung's skin shivered at that because he knew what the call meant.

It meant that the others were finally coming back.

He hurried to get outside as well, walking between the bodies and trying to make room for himself as he heard people gasping in shock. He understood why everyone was acting like because they were all shocked and excited to see the others for the first time in years. As Taehyung walked around the pack, sniffing the air, he realized that among the different scents that were enveloping them, Jeongguk's sweet one wasn't there. He could be able to feel something similar to the flowery scent he loved but it was different now, having a tint of fresh grass and sandalwood, being overpowered by something he couldn't exactly pinpoint.

When he was finally able to reach the front rows, slipping next to his mother, the woman turning towards him and holding his hand tight, Taehyung frowned. The wolves weren't there yet. They were probably still walking through the darkness of the trees, but as they came closer, he could sense something that felt like utter danger. He knew it wasn't bad, or directed towards them, but he could still feel the powerful scent that floated through the air, the power that one shapeshifter owned. It wasn't dangerous for him but he knew that all alphas, including the head one, felt threatened because of it.

Taehyung's only felt a similar scent once, when he's firstly met Jimin and his impeccable white wolf walked into their pack grounds, his eyes crimson and  dangerous. Jimin's wolf, even if he was an alpha, was slightly smaller than others', but Taehyung knew that it was deadly. His scent made every other larger shapeshifter feel threatened and Taehyung realized that the same thing was happening now. The whole pack was murmuring and the scent of fear, mostly from omegas, was present in the air. If Jimin's scent had made every alpha go feral and defensive those years prior, that scent lingering in the air now was going to be even worse.

After a few minutes, the first shapeshifters appeared from between the tall trees and Taehyung felt his heartbeat pick up. The wolves were colored in different shades and they looked strong, having a few scars on their bodies and their fur ruffled due to the long way they've walked in order to get back. They stopped in front of the pack, catching their breaths, while everyone waited for the others to arrive.
