Taehyung didn't have time to talk to the others because they were dragged away by the head alphas and the other important people in the pack. They probably had matters to discuss since, technically, Jeongguk and the others weren't pups anymore. They were supposed to take of the pack, they've trained for it, so Taehyung understood why they disappeared inside the main house, leaving all of them outside.

His father was also gone so he and his mother went inside the cooking area and started preparing dinner for the, they assumed, starving men inside. It was already dark outside and a large fire was crackling in the center of the pack, guarded by a few betas since the children were still up and playing. Taehyung could see everything from inside through the large window and a smile appeared on his face once he noticed a few pups shifting under the moonlight and sparring playfully. He and Jeongguk used to do the same all the time and Taehyung always won since Jeongguk's wolf used to be smaller.

How ironic since now it was almost twice the size of his small spirit animal.

A hand was seated on his shoulder, making him turn his attention from the window to the person behind him. "Taehyung," his mother smiled. "you should go outside as well. We're almost done here."

He nodded, knowing that there wasn't anything he could've helped with anyway since he wasn't that good at cooking. His wolf was an omega but Taehyung still liked to act like his usual self, even if his body structure and face had changed through the years.

As he walked out, he felt his body start to shiver due to the cold air that engulfed his body. He looked around curiously, only now noticing the group of men standing around the fire, laughing, while other younger people he knew roamed around them.

His eyes finally dropped to Jeongguk, the other standing with his back turned towards him, still shirtless, like the others. He knew that alphas didn't get cold, like the rest of them did, but he still felt himself shiver even harder when he realized that the others could feel the cold air on their bare skin.

He felt envious for one second because, ever since presenting as an omega, he's been forced to wear more layers of clothes in order to warm his body up.

"Oh my God, is that really Taehyung?"

His attention went towards the boy that was already on his feet, a huge smile plastered on his face as they finally made eye contact. It was one of his closest friends from before, Seungyoun, an alpha that was running towards him with fast steps. For a moment, Taehyung's eyes searched Jeongguk's, finding him turned fully towards them now, watching.

He wanted Jeongguk to be the one running towards him with a huge smile but he still managed to look excited as Seungyoun picked him up from the ground, twirling him around with ease. Their training must've been harsh because his friend used to be slimmer than him 5 years back.

"Taehyung, look at you! You've changed so much that I didn't even recognize your scent. You're an omega? How did that happen?"

He laughed, patting the other's shoulders as a warning to let him down because, in the pack members' eyes, he was already mated to someone.

He couldn't let other act like that with him.

"It just happened. I see that your training worked miracles on you. Where are your noodle arms?"

Seungyoun laughed as he took his hand, pulling him towards the others. "C'mon, we have so much to talk about. Jeongguk's probably dying to hug you."

For Taehyung it didn't look like the other was even happy too see him in the slightest since he was staring at him with furrowed brows and no expression. For a moment he wondered if Jeongguk could tell that he had another scent on him, that he was already promised to Yoongi, but he knew that was impossible since he hasn't seen the other man in months.
