Jeongguk opened his eyes, closing them as soon as he was met with a bright light that made his head hurt. He tried moving his hand in order to cover his eyes but found himself incapable to do so and, once he finally opened them in order to check what was keeping him down, Jeongguk was left breathless.
Taehyung was sleeping with his head on his arm, a flower crown atop his head, one that Jeongguk didn't know the purpose of. They were in his room, which was unexpected because the last thing Jeongguk remembered was him talking to Taehyung on the flower field — their spot.
As realization hit him, Jeongguk moved, making Taehyung raise his head, eyes alarmed as they finally looked at each other. Time stopped for a few seconds before Taehyung threw himself on Jeongguk and let their lips meet. The alpha was surprised for a moment but he regained his composure, arms circling around his mate's waist and pulling him closer until he was straddling him on his bed.
Oh, how much he had missed the feeling of Taehyung's body in his arms.
Once they finally broke apart, their foreheads still touching because they just couldn't bring more space between them, Jeongguk decided to speak up. "Tae, what happened? You," he stopped, taking in a deep breath as he finally found the courage to voice those words out. "you were supposed to be Yoongi's mate."
Taehyung frowned, leaning away, his eyes skeptical as he stared Jeongguk down. "First of all, I was supposed to but not anymore and second of all, how do you know Yoongi?"
Taehyung looked mad but Jeongguk was aware that was just a facade. He could feel the happiness and warmth in his body from their bond. Even without the bond he would've still known because he was just as happy.
He had a chance at a happy life with Taehyung and that was all that mattered.
"This might be shocking to you and please don't slap me but," Taehyung tilted his head, waiting for him to continue. "Yoongi's my older brother and I asked him to court you so that you could live happily and protected after I'd die?" Jeongguk blabbered as fast as he could, not daring to check Taehyung's reaction.
When the other hit his chest with his fist, not strong enough to hurt but still pretty hard, he looked at him again.
"You fucking idiot."
Jeongguk gasped, wanting to push Taehyung away in fear that The Primeval might snap again because of his behavior but was surprised to realize nothing was happening. He was as calm as before.
His confusion was probably visible because Taehyung calmed down, his hands cupping Jeongguk's cheeks and making them lock eyes. "You're fine now, Jeongguk. The, The Primeval accepted you as its vessel."
After hearing his words Jeongguk was hit with flashbacks of their spirit wolves' conversation on the field, which cleared his foggy smile. With a smile on his face, he brought Taehyung down until their lips clashed against each other again.
"You are my fate." Was all he said before Taehyung accused him of being too cheesy and Jeongguk just laughed it off.
They stayed there for a few hours, in their safe space, taking back all the time they've lost but Jeongguk knew they had to get out soon.
There were things he needed to clear.

Seokjin watched as the two mates walked outside, their bodies so pressed against each other that a smile appeared on his face.
