This chapter is dedicated to two people:
First is @cocoggukk. They showed new interest in my story that I had not seen in a long time. I appreciate it so much. They also have a Joe fanfic called Highschool Love. I totally recommend it. It's a great book and they're very talented.
Second is @delilah_the_cat. They have been so sweet and have read all of my chapters from both books. They're so supportive and kind. Delilah is a great person and made me feel a lot better about my work!
I woke up in the morning. I sat up in the bed and stretched. I yawned and thought to myself, while noticing the sunlight coming through my window, "Ah, what a beautiful Monday morning.". Joe and I had a peaceful weekend. The whole family did actually. Then, I got out of the bed and realized something...
It was MONDAY morning. MONDAY...
Oh my god...
What's gonna happen at school?
Shit Shit Shit!
I turned around in the bed and threw my face in my pillow.
Once I'd finally dragged myself out of the bed, went to the bathroom and gotten my teeth brushed, I headed down to the kitchen for breakfast. Joe and John were sitting there eating pancakes. They both turned around when they heard me.
"Hi Valentina." John said to me.
Before I could respond to him, he turned to his older brother.
"Ha! I said it to her first!" John declared. Joe rolled his eyes.
I took a seat next to my boyfriend.
"Good morning, beautiful." He whispered.
"More like...bad morning." I complained.
"Ah, don't worry about school. We'll get through it. I'm gonna be there no matter what happens." He assured me.
"What are you guys talking about? Why are you guys worried for school?" John inquired, as any nosy little brother would.
"Oh my god, John! Not every conversation involves you! Just butt out."
John threw a blueberry at his brother, hitting him right between the eyes.
Joe, enraged over a tiny blueberry, literally picked up the maple syrup bottle and was going to throw it at John.
Virginia came down the stairs.
"Joseph, you put that down right now!" She said, pointing at Joe. Joe slowly lowered the bottle while he stared at his brother.
Joe's father came downstairs a couple of minutes after. He sat down with his coffee at the table.
"Valentina, is something wrong?" He asked me.
"No sir, why?" I replied.
"Well, you're not eating anything." He observed.
"Oh, yeah - um - I'm not hungry. I'm sorry. Um, I'm going to go and just finish getting ready. Is that okay?" I asked, looking at both parents. Ginnie had just came to the table with her coffee.
"Sure, it's alright." She said as she smiled at me.
I thanked them. Joe patted my thigh underneath the table right before I got up.
I was in my room still getting ready. I still hadn't turned my phone back on. For the whole weekend, Joe and I had decided to turn our phones off and not turn them back on until Monday. We spent Saturday and Sunday watching movies, taking walks around his neighborhood, and just talking.
