How could this be? It's like I couldn't escape certain horrors in my life. I'm sitting with the daughter of a man who tied me up and stuck me in a room where I had no idea what my fate would be. I started thinking about Joe. He went through the same trauma I did. How am I going to tell him this? All I could do was stare at the pink rug on Lucy's floor as my mind raced.
"Valentina?" I heard Lucy say.
I slowly looked at her.
"What's wrong? You don't seem so well all of the sudden." She inquired, concerned.
"Yeah, are you alright?" Kerrie asked me. I couldn't even look at her though. I kept my eyes focused on Lucy.
"Lucy, I need to go to your bathroom." I told her in a quiet voice.
She gave me a strange look. "Well, okay. Go ahead, hun. You're not sick are you?"
"You could say that..." I replied. I reached over and grabbed my phone off of the bed.
"Why are you taking your phone with you?" Lucy asked me as I walked out of her room.
I ignored the question.
Once I was in Lucy's bathroom, I called Joe as quick as I could.
"Hello?" I hear his voice say on the other end.
"Joe, come and pick me up now." I said in a hushed tone while also trying not to let any distress be heard in my voice.
"Wait, what's up? Did something happen?" He asked.
"Joe, just come and hurry."
"Valentina, what's going on? Are you okay?"
"Joe, please. No more questions right now. I'll talk to you when you get here. Please...just...just come get me." I pleaded while trying not to sound too desperate.
"...Alright, babe. I'll be there as soon as possible, okay?" He promised me.
"Ok, thanks mi vida. See you when you get here." I hung up the phone and took some deep breaths. How was I going to break this all to Joe? I didn't want us both to go through this pain again.
I texted Joe after we had spoken telling him to send me a message when he got here. I didn't even want to go back in that room with that girl-
Oh shit!
I'm such an idiot...
All of my stuff is still in Lucy's room.
I had no choice but to go back in there...
I opened the bathroom door and made my way back to Lucy's room. I didn't look at either of the girls. I just grabbed my bag and my pajamas that I was going to change into later and shoved them in quickly.
"Valentina, what on earth are you doing?" Lucy questioned, sounding almost frightened by my behavior.
"I have to go." I replied without even looking at her.
"But-but, why? I don't understand what's going on." She said.
"Listen, I just have to go. I'm...I'm just feeling sick." I lied as I put on my jacket.
"Okay, for some reason I totally don't believe you, Valentina. You know I love you like a sister, but you have to tell me the truth. What happ-"
