░▒▓█ The Hospital

"You should call him, now." My mother continued watching carefully at the phone which was idly left at on the bedside table by her hospital bed, she was very confident. "Do it, for your mother who loves you dearly."

"Fine, pass me my phone." I said with a groan as soon as we saw that the light of my phone shined brightly, signalling that my phone had charged even a little bit. Sure it probably wasn't the most sufficient amount but it was something.

"Wait no, it isn't charged properly, let me just check if you have any calls." She mischievously smiled, a big grin on her features. Her eyes scanned through the phone until her eyes widened and her grin became tighter and wider.  "A phone call!" She chimed while unplugging the phoned handing it to me.

"Thanks mum, you're so helpful." I laughed while pressing onto the missed call, I put the phone up to my ear hearing the familiar yet annoying dial tone, that would often heighten my worries and nervous.

"I know, I'm such a gem." My mum put her hand up to her chest and acting all prideful, my mother has the heart of a teenager, she always has. We're twenty years apart and yet we act like sisters that are only a year or so apart.

"Hello?" The voice on the other side of the phone answered, it was the same masculine voice I had met in the rain. His voice was a tad bit softer in comparison to how it usually was, the only thing I could think of was how we're on the opposite sides of the spectrum. What if he knew who I was and entailed to put me in harm's way.

"Oh hello there, I didn't expect you'd pick up." I answered, my mother looked at me and put her ear near the phone to hear his voice.

"Sorry but... I didn't check the caller ID, who might this be?" His tone was angry and annoyed, he clearly didn't want to be bothered, it was like the softer voice from before had perished. I could hear clicking from a keyboard on the other side, he was clearly half-assing the conversation.

"Oh, it's Y/N, sorry is this a bad time?" I asked, feeling stupid for not introducing myself first. I heard him stop typing and start shuffling around in his chair, I just assumed he was siting from the squeaks of what I assumed was a chair. I stifled my need to laugh, it was amusing really.

"No, no, not at all!" He reassured. "Sorry, I'm just doing some paperwork, it won't take long." He paused. "So, is this about trench coat... because if you still need it then you can use it a little longer." He commented, a few papers shuffling around along with the chair.

"No, it's okay, it wouldn't be fair on you." I pleaded him. "Plus if I don't give it back to you now then I never will, it's really warm and..." I go to finish my sentence but he interrupted me.

"And you have a habit of wearing the black bras on rainy days, I can tell you're smart." He jested, my mother hit my arm and laughed a little. "Is someone else there... Are you busy?" He asked, putting some emphasis on the word 'someone' adding a bit of venom, then paused for a moment. "We can continue this conversation a little later if you need."

"I called you." I stated with a smile, regardless of his lack of being able to see me. Yet my mother could and she made a point of smirking at me with her usual teasing ways.

"Well, that's true." He laughed. "I take it you aren't busy and whoever there can hear me."

"Wow, you can laugh, that's new." I jested, he chuckled a little and I could hear his smiled from over the phone. That's a good sign, right? "You'd be right, for both of those."

"Lovely!" He sighed. "Please tell me it isn't a parent, my previous comment would make it difficult to meet them." His tone was prideful and playful.

"Cocky are we? Well, yes, it was my mother." I laughed, he went quiet. "Don't worry I'm sure she didn't hear what you said." I reassure, my mother rolled her eyes and moved her ear closer to the phone.

"Well, that's a relief." He laughed, I heard a door open  from his end of the phone, a voice started speaking but it was muffled and I couldn't hear what they were saying. "No...obviously not...I'm on the phone, are you that inconsiderate of your higher ups?" His conversation was amusing.

"Do you want me to call you back?" I asked.

"No not at all...I'm not talking to you Akutagawa! You have to fucking knock next time, you have no manners...that's what I thought, apologise." He ruthless said.

"It's interesting how angry he can get." I said to my mother.

"I know, I can hear it in his voice, he sounded so soft and sweet when speaking to you, how sweet!" My mother exclaimed happily. Chuuya grunted. "Shit I think he heard me, that's it your over, I've messed it up for you. Will you still love me Y/N?" My mother joked.

"I don't think I can." I joked, pretending to act dramatic.

"If I tell you I'm cutting you out of my will can you change your mind?" My mother asked with a big smile.

"Fuck I guess so." I laughed.

"That's your mother?"Chuuya laughed. "That conversation was headache worthy."

"Thank you, when should I drop off the coat?" I asked.

"How about...my place? Maybe 7pm, dinner?" He inquired.

"Sounds delightful, text me your address, when were you thinking?" I smiled and felt my mothers eyes burning through me, not in any bad way but more of a excited way, like the time of staring you do when you can't believe your eyes.

"Tomorrow night? Maybe?" His voice sounded hopeful.

"Gladly! I don't want to spend a Saturday night alone." I laughed and smiled.

"Good, I'll see you then." He said, I heard something fall off a desk. "Shit, sorry I fell off my chair, I swear to god I never do that." I burst out in laughter and I couldn't stop myself from consistent smiles.

"Holy shit, are you okay?" I laughed and shook my head, ignoring the fact he couldn't see it at all. "Well, I'll see you there." I hung up the phone and squealed.

"This is so exciting! Make sure to call me when you're picking out an outfit!" My mother called excitedly. The nurse, Yumiko she's known me since I was 12 and was a few years younger than my mother, came in, gave me a look and motioned me to get off her bed. As if on command, I did.

"So, Ms L/N, how tired are you?" Yumiko asked, a sugary sweet voice when speaking to my mother.

"Well, before Y/N visited a 7, after the conversation we just had a 4." My mother winked at me and smiled.

"Ooo, what sort of conversation are we having?" Yumiko asked, her light pink hair was tied into a pony tail and her brown eyes were filled with sudden excitement. "Y/N, I'm basically your Aunty, I've known and looked after you since you were 12. Spill."

"I have a date, at least I think, wait shit. What if I didn't get that he meant it just as friends? What if I think it's a date and he didn't mean it as a date." I mumbled.

"You have a date, he definitely meant it as a date." My mother contested and explained.

"I have never heard of you going on a date! When you were younger you were only interested in school work." Yumiko clapped her hands together. "Who is he? What does he do? When did you meet him?"

"We can talk about this later, go pay attention to my mum, I'll come back tomorrow and bring you flowers!" I said to my mother, giving her two kisses and give g Yumiko a hug. "See you both later!"
