Louis’s family was the first to arrive. They were all very nice to MG, especially Daisy and Phoebe.
“Madeline-Grace, Louis has told us all about you!” Louis’s mother had said. Charlotte was super funny and Gracie was adorable. MG and Jace were a bit overwhelmed with all of the people.
Theo was really sweet to Jace and they played together. All of the kids knew each other so MG felt a little bit out of place at first. Reese and Samantha and Emily were playing with their dolls; so MG and the twins went up to MG’s room and they talked while the parents and older kids finished dinner and talked.
“MG, when is your birthday?” Daisy asked.
“I turn 13 on June 12th. When is yours?”
“March 23, we will be 20.”
“That’s cool. Do you like having a famous brother?”
“Well, it stinks because he was always away during the time of the band, but we got used to it. We were 6 when he started and that was most of our childhood. All we had was Lottie, Fizzy, and each other,” Phoebe said.
“I think we would’ve been closer if he hadn’t gone with the band, but they are great guys and we got to see him a lot,” Daisy added. “You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but… what was it like living in the JAC?”
“Well, like I told Liam one night while we were in the hospital, it was really hard knowing no one loved me. I knew my mom loved me, but she wasn’t alive so it was still tough.” Daisy hugged her.
They talked until dinner.
After dinner, they said their goodbyes and the families left. It was around 10:45 when everyone was finally gone and the family was sitting in the living room together. MG, Liam, and Niall on one couch; Jace, Harry, and Louis on the other.
“MG, since you are better, we need to talk about going to school second term. Wolverhampton Prep starts up again January 5th. I can go enroll you on the 3rd. Are you Ok with going to school?” Liam said. MG moved her head from his chest to look at him.
“What if I’m not smart enough for the 7th grade?”
“You are. I promise,” Niall said. He kissed her forehead.
“Papa?” Jace spoke up.
“Hmm baby?” Louis said.
“What will I do while Maddie-Gracie is in school?” he asked.
“Well, I coach football (soccer) at the school. That is in the morning. Dadda goes into work at 12:45 and I get home at 11:50. He will be with you in the morning and I will be with you in the afternoon. Is that Ok?”
“Uh huh. Maddie-Gracie will be home in the afternoon right?”
