The new forest around her was green, and not pine tree green. But green of leaves and grass. Elain smiled and took in the scents and warmth of this new place. Azriel stood behind her, waiting.
"We can stay here for a day." He said, Elain froze.
"I don't want to go back." She said. "I don't want to go back to mountains, snow, darkness."
"You don't feal like you belong there? With your sisters?" Az said, always trying to understand, always so caring.
"I don't belong there..." She said in answer. "Leave me here. Don't come back for me."
"I can't do that, this is not a place where you are safe..."
"I was supposed to be safe, but they came, and threw me into the cauldron. I was supposed to be safe in the camps, but the cauldron took me. YOU where supposed to keep me safe Az, and you couldn't." She screamed. And waited, waited for Azriel to say something back, but he only vanished. Leaving her in the forest. And Elain drew a sigh of relief. A place of color, of warmth. Of flowers and greenery. She guessed it was a small spot of greenery near the southern border to the Night Court. Feyre would probably come to her before the night. Talking to her begging her to come back. Elain would wait for it.
Lilly of the valley grew around her, together with rose bushes and other springs flowers she didn't know the name of. Some wight and bli in the same form. Some small star shaped flowers. Spring flowers, all of them. Wild spring flowers. Elain walked around in the forest, her skirts sometimes got stuck on a rose thorn, riping a hole in the hem. Elain didn't care, she had many dresses at home. All gifts from Feyre. She could destroy one.
She walked and walked. The sun stood high, making her sweet, she had no food. Not so Caring of Az to leave her without food. Elain kept on walking, until the ground disappear under her feet and she fell down in a hole. Laying in her back she looked up at the sky, clear blue sky, no clouds. The sun still stood high. And she waited for Az to show up, no way he had left her alone. But no one came.
Alone... She was alone. She sat up, no real injuries the fall had been more of a slide down to the hole. Now she just needed to get back up... Somehow... Feyre could just shift and get wings. Nesta had her training... Elain... She had her voice.
"HELP!" She screamed, "HELP!" No moment was heard, no footsteps, no wings. Elain pretended to cry and scream even more. "HELP! HEl..." A males face came over the edge looking down at her.
"How did you get there?" He asked. He looked like he had never been in a bathroom. His blond hair a tangled mess, dirt covered his face, a start to a beard on his chin... But the green eyes... Elain lost her words for a moment.
"I fell. Can you get me up?" She said, putting her hands at her side.
"I can." The males head disappeared.
"Will you help me!" She scream after him his face appeared again.
"As a mater of fact, I will. Just wait a moment." He disappeared again.
"Stupid males..." Elain mumbled as she sat down and waited.
"Who is stupid?" She screamed and turned around, the male stood there, in the hole with her.
"How did you get here? How..." He took her arm and in the next moment she was out of the hole.
"A thank you would be nice." The male said. Letting go of her arm.
"Thank you." She said. "Do you have a name?"
"No problem. And I don't use my name. It is easier not to. And you?" For a moment Elain hesitated. She could tell him that she was someone else, someone that was not related to the Night Court. But who?
"Clare." She said. "And No name for you?"
"No name for me."
He leed her to a camping sight, a fire was burning and over it meet was getting prepared.
"Take a seat." He pointed at some moss covered rooks. "What are you doing out here?"
"I needed to get away, and you?" she said, moving her skirts so she could sit down.
"I needed to get away too. Family problems?"
"Yes..." He was a stranger, but Elain trusted him. "The same for you?"
"You could say so." He picked up a tray of berries and fruit. "Hungry?"
"Yes..." Ealin took the tray and started to eat the sweet berries. "Thanks..." She added.
"So, where are you from Clare?" Elain hesitated again.
"Up north." She answered. "And you?"
"East. I have not seen you around before?"
"Maybe because I have not been living in the forest for so long."
"I guess." The male walked over to the fier, "How did you plan on staying alive out here? The forrest if full of beasts and creatures."
"I..." Elain scramble for the words. "I didn't think I was going to be alone, I have always have people around me." She then said.
"Well, you are not alone Clare." The male said, putting another piece of wood in the fire. "Your screams would have woken up anything for miles around you."
"Good that you found me first." She said, and gave him a smile. He was nice. And... She had hade no visions yet in his presents. That was a good thing. Elain told herself. A good thing.
"I guess, I only have one tent for sleeping, you can take it if you like. I can sleep on the ground." around them the sun had started to set. But still hours from night fall.
"No need, I think my family will get me before then." She said.
"But you left them?"
"I need to get away, but they will never leave me alone in the forest over night." At least she hoped that.
"Your words, I will go out and do some scouting, wait here. And i Guess that if you are gone when I come back, your family came." The male left her. Disappearing into the forest.
The sun had almost gone down when he returned, fining Elain walking around the camp, none the Night Court had come for her. Not Azriel, Not Cassian, Not Nesta Or Feyre. Not Mor or Armen. Not even Rhys... She was forgotten, left behind...
"I guess your family have not come?" The Male said, placing one more pice of wood into the fire.
"No... They didn't..." Elain said. "I can sleep on the ground, take the tent." They might not find her otherwise.
"As you wish, but I should warn you, the tent gives more protection."
"And you don't need it?" Elain said, looking him in the green eyes. He smiled.
"I don't need the protektion." He said, and started to carv of the meat. "Dinner?" She accepted the plate, and stated to eat it with her fingers. No forks in sight.
She ended up sleeping in the tent, not caring one thing about the night Court missing her.
